Student Services Officer Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum (pro rata) Fixed Term Position - Full Time (until 30th June 2017) Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs and language training. The Student Services Officer (SSO) is a critical member of the College team in the administration of the key aspects of the student life cycle. The SSO will assist in the implementation and delivery of effective student support services including: student arrival services; student enrolment and registration; student accommodation service; student orientation and transfer; welfare support (student in jeopardy programme); student enrichment and enhancement; student representative training; student communication; fees and debt collection and related systems and processes. University level qualifications or at least two (2) years’ experience in a relevant industry and/or have equivalent qualifications and/or professional experience Experience of working in a customer services/ education front of house service Have the ability to communicate with staff and students from a diverse range of cultural and educational backgrounds Good verbal and written English language communication skills Possess good data analysis and presentation skills Good team-working skills Good understanding of the importance of file management (including electronic files) Be able to prioritise duties, and seek clarification and guidance from manager when faced with competing priorities Demonstrate sound knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health and safety principles and ability to implement them at the strategic and/or operational level Possess a “can do” mentality Shine when under pressure For further information about this role, please read the attached information sheet.

Overview of the Position The Student Services Officer (SSO) is a critical member of the College team in the administration of the key aspects of the student life cycle. The SSO will assist in the implementation and delivery of effective student support services including: student arrival services; student enrolment and registration; student accommodation service; student orientation and transfer; welfare support (student in jeopardy programme); student enrichment and enhancement; student representative training; student communication; fees and debt collection and related systems and processes. The SSO will support all policies and regulations as they relate to the student environment, ensuring each student has the appropriate support services in place that will enable students to perform to the best of their ability. The role requires a high energy, self-starter who is able to use their initiative and be an active and productive member of a small cross functional team. Key Relationships i.

Key Result Areas Enrolment and Orientation  Assist Student Services Coordinator (SSC) or equivalent with Airport Meet and Greet services  Participate in the development and implementation of an effective and efficient enrolment process  Participate in the development and implementation of an effective and enjoyable orientation programme  Ensure that Student Mentors and Student Representatives are well trained and available as necessary to assist with the arrival, orientation and enrolment processes Communication  Manage student communications via the student portal and other media/online technologies/ social media and seek to consolidate and enhance this provision  Manage the student Voice through the Student Forum, i-Graduate and Surveys ensuring student representation on all College Committees Student Enrichment and Engagement  Plan and implement an on-going programme of student centred events and activities (academic, social, employability)  Support the Student Recognition Awards Student Health and Wellbeing  Assist the SSC or equivalent in the management of an under 18 programme for students  Assist the SSC or equivalent in the management of the student in jeopardy programme Student Accommodation  Assist in the accommodation service for students and enhance the continued provision of student accommodation both in private accommodation and in the College’s Halls of Residence  Assist in the management of student related accommodation documentation – database, individual files, contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Student Finance  Assist SSC or equivalent in the implementation of processes to ensure the prompt payment of fees and student and sponsor debts  Assist in the processing of student payments on the College student management system (SMS) inclusive of (i) receipting of fees, (ii) posting receipt and (iii) updating student files for Credit, Debit Card and Bank Draft payments

Student Services Administration  Support the College’s 24 x 7 Emergency Response programme  Assist in the provision of the Student in Jeopardy (SiJ) programme  Assist in the provision of regular reports on Student Service related matters to the College Management Team  Provide administrative support for the Student Forum and College Enhancement Meetings Other  Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding college information and student files  Support the management of student records  Participate in enrolment and orientation activities  Participate in 24/7 student support rota  Carry out duties as may be required by the CDP Qualifications and Selection Criteria Attribute Qualifications and professional development
