Summer 2014 Scholarship Application Application Deadline: May 15, 2014 Scholarship Award Notification: May 30, 2014 For over three decades, The New Jersey Artist/Teacher Institute (aTi) has welcomed classroom teachers, art teachers, administrators, student teachers and artists to be immersed in a variety of art forms including book arts, music, printmaking, , painting, poetry and dance. Led by professional arts instructors, aTi participants break through barriers to creative teaching and learning and connect with a community of peers emerging refreshed, renewed, energized and inspired. If you are awarded a scholarship, a $150 scholarship acceptance fee is required to secure your registration. Scholarships may not cover materials fees, transportation, and/or the additional meals and lodging fees at aTi-Stockton College if you are a residential participant. You can only apply for a scholarship at one site.

I attest that the information in my scholarship application is true and complete. Any falsification, misrepresentation, or incompleteness in this qualification is grounds for disqualification or termination of scholarship award. I attest that I am currently a full-time teacher in New Jersey. I understand that a $150 non-refundable scholarship acceptance fee will be payable immediately upon notification of a scholarship award. I understand that failure to submit payment as requested in my scholarship award letter may result in the loss of my scholarship. I understand that my scholarship may not pay for any material fees, transportation, and any additional meals or lodging fees for the residential option at aTi-Stockton College. I agree to complete a scholarship evaluation and report documenting my experiences at aTi within 4 weeks of the end date of my program session. I agree to attend every day of the Artist/Teacher Institute barring any emergency or extenuating circumstances. If I am awarded a scholarship and cannot fulfill the above requirements at any time, I will inform Arts Horizons immediately. Scholarships are non-transferrable. Signature

To the Recommender: The participant named above is applying for financial support through a scholarship to attend the Artist/Teacher Institute. Your letter will be most helpful in distinguishing this applicant from others by commenting specifically on the applicant’s potential to participate and contribute in an intensive arts immersion program. Please focus on your experiences and observations with the applicant that illustrate his/her motivation to learn, potential for development and growth and interest in incorporating the arts into their personal or professional practice. Indicate how long and in what capacity you have known the applicant. Institutional letterhead must be used for all professional references. Letters must be signed and dated by the person recommending the participant for a scholarship.
