Members invited to Get in on the Action at WineFest September 25 - 27 Sample over 100 variety of local wines. Sit back and listen or get up and dance to the musical acts on stage. Browse and shop at artisan, crafter and vendor booths. Sample tasty festival fare from the food vendors. Cheer on local performers during the Grape Country’s Got Talent competition. Part of the charm and excitement that makes WineFest such a popular event to residents and visitors alike is the variety of activity offered throughout the 3-day festival. You, your employees and your business can get in on the action!

Volunteering It takes a whole crew of volunteers to make WineFest a reality. In fact, over 200 volunteers come together over the course of the weekend to create a fun and safe experience for our guests. Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend to run the admissions booths, souvenir tent, wine tent and to be wine couriers. Consider having your employees staff a shift in any of these four spots. They could all wear shirts with the company name

or logo to gain recognition for your business. This would also be a great team building event for your employees and it’s fun! Volunteers receive a complimentary general admission ticket that can be upgraded to a tasting band. (The volunteer plays the difference in price to upgrade.) To volunteer, email executive director Amy Vercant at [email protected] or Inside this issue call the Chamber office at 725-4262. Artist & winery pair.............. 2

Bed Races A much enjoyed event during WineFest is the annual Bed Races which take place beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday in Gibson Park. Following a parade of all entered teams and their beds, the races begin at the corner

Arrowhead Wine Cellars and artist Tamara Maas from 9 Digit Designs recently joined forces to create two newly released wines and their artistic style labels.

Q: Why did you decide to become a member of the NE Chamber of Commerce? A: We saw all that the chamber does for its members and heard from other members how much a new business can benefit from joining.

After seeing Mass’s work, Arrowhead’s Nick and Kathy Mobilia chose her design for their Naked Chardonnay and then asked her to design another label for their Sassy Sangria as well. “We like working with local business,” said Kathy Mobilia. Both wines were released at the winery on June 7, where attendees enjoyed food paired with the new wines and had a chance to have their bottles signed by Maas. “It was a fun experience, and I hope to work with Arrowhead again in the future,” the artist says.

Welcome New Members

Every summer, the Chamber adds a temporary part time position to the staff as tourism and visitor traffic increases. This year, we’re pleased to welcome “one of our own” into the position. Melissa Johnson, a PA Cyber School student, has been a volunteer intern with the Chamber since the fall of 2014. As member of the staff, Melissa greets customers in person and over the phone, and assists the staff with a variety of projects. “Working at the Chamber of Commerce has really helped me come out of my shell. I feel more confident communicating with everyone and I enjoy meeting all the new peo-
