SPRING/SUMMER 2018

This summer Portland Christian Center’s Middle School Ministry is embarking on an incredible adventure with its middle schoolers – SURGE! July 25-28 Our students will spend a weekend retreat centralized out of KOA Astoria which includes pirate’s cove mini golf, bounce pillow, giant checkers, swimming pools & game room. The weekend will include beach games, late night activities, a trip to the Astoria Column, worshipping, and growing in their relationship with Christ. We will be checking students in to camp before church on Wednesday, July 25th as early as 5:00 pm. Dinner will be provided and there will be a late night meal as well. We will sleep on campus, then leave for the beach the next morning. Parent pick up is at church on Saturday, July 28th at 6PM (Gym Entrance).

COST: Pre-registration cost is $85 (includes food, transportation, lodging) $50 deposit is due by June 20th (space is limited, so first come first serve) Late registration cost is $100 $65 deposit is due by July 18 (only applies if space is still available)

NIKE Hoop Summit Friday, April 13 | 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM | Moda Center Nike Hoop Summit – an annual basketball game that pits the best U.S. high school senior boys against top international players from around the world who are 19 years old or younger in a one game showdown. Cost: $10 each (OR Free if your parent attends as approved carpool help) - first come first serve! Talk with Pastor Aaron to get on the list.

Join us for our annual Student Missions Dinner & Auction! Every dollar raised will go to support our student choirs for their summer missions trips. Auction items include vacation packages, gift baskets, event tickets, restaurant certificates, sporting goods, furniture, household, lawn and garden items, home electronics, toys, service certificates and much more!

Wipeout! Aquatic Challenge Friday, May 25 | 6:15 PM - 8:25 PM | Conestoga Recreation Center The Aqua Challenge is nearly 40 feet long, 6 feet wide and more than 7 feet high at its apex. It can be an adventure for kids of all sizes, supporting up to 400 pounds. The “challenge” is staying on the inflatable, which requires some concentration to navigate … or get ready for a plunge into the water below!

Join us for a fun night at Wilson Pool! Two outdoor pools: 6-lane lap pool with diving board and family leisure pool with current channel, vortex, water slide, and zero-depth water play structure are all included at this pool! *Parent Drop off/pick up at pool. Cost: $6 Bring: Swimming suit, towel, permission slip

UPCOMING EVENTS AUGUST CONTINUED Tryon Creek Bike Ride Wednesday, August 15 | 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM; 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Church Wednesday, August 15 is our bike ride through the hills of Tryon Creek. Students who want to attend must RSVP. There are still a few spots left on the shuttles, but it is first come, first serve. Meet at PCC at 1PM and we will ride over to Tryon Creek. Students, please bring a water bottle, a backpack, your bike, helmet, a personal snack, $5 for dinner and a signed permission slip. After the bike ride and dinner, students will return in time for church on campus. Parent pick up will be at 8:30PM

Community Care Day Saturday, August 25 | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Robert Gray Middle School Each year Portland Christian Center joins Portland Public Schools and other volunteers in beautifying the campus of Robert Gray Middle School. Project Community Care involves landscaping work, such as trimming bushes, pulling weeds, cleaning walkways and parking lots and spreading bark dust. All ages are welcome, and families are encouraged to work together. Individuals should bring their own tools and supplies. Join us afterwards for a delicious BBQ.
