From the director oF children’s ministry… It's time for our annual "TO MERIDIAN WITH LOVE" service project! During the month of February, members of Highland will choose different outreach opportunities to better SERVE and LOVE others in our community. Sunday School classes will group together to achieve their goals and at the same time have fellowship with one another, getting to know each other past the "hey, how are you" stage. Ideas have ranged from serving gift cards to garbage truck workers, snack bags for the cancer center patients, giving much needed upgrades to our child development classrooms, valentine bags to the shut ins, shopping for care lodge needs, singing and making handmade cards for nursing home residents, yard work, flower beds, card writing, free medical clinic office supplies, and etc., etc. What do you have in mind this year? Is there something or somebody that you have noticed needs attention? This is the time to have others join in to help you. Of course, your project is not limited to just one idea. You may have multiple ideas!! This is not meant to be the only time of year that we reach others, but a reminder to stop what we're doing for a moment and think about who or what needs our love. When you or your class determine what your service is going to be, then you can submit pictures in action and a brief description to the office so we can display on our bulletin board all that’s going on! It's easy to get caught up and not realize it's been a while since we have reached out. It's something I'm working to get better at. I can't wait until we have time to have a "To HBC with Love" month....ha! It's actually a really great idea. Everyone has a spot in the church that they think needs upgrading and this would be your chance to group together and make it beautiful.
