Our Space Study Committee has met regularly and prayerfully since February 2016 to discuss the future needs of our church. Early on, a demographic study was done by personnel from the Arkansas Baptist Convention. The study concluded that on the western side of the Village where we are located a significant number of people can be identified. Many are not affiliated with any church. Also, a large number of the homes in our area are being occupied by younger families.

A few months ago the church identified several areas of consideration for further study. An expenditure of $5,000 was approved for architectural support. With specific information in hand, the committee is now prepared to bring its report and recommendations to the congregation. Below is the schedule we will follow:

Awards program will take place during our regular monthly potluck on Wednesday, May 17. Then, on May 28, Memorial Day Sunday, we will pay tribute to the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country; and we will remember our beloved dead with a procession of flowers. The service will conclude with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper, a remembrance of

The “Mother’s Day Moments” Mugs-and-Muffins event on Friday, May 12, will be packed with information and fellowship. The community is invited to gather in BRBC’s fellowship hall from 10:30 to noon to hear Children’s Ministry Director Pat Carpenter and special guest speaker Carrie Leary. Pat will introduce the new children’s director, Ann Webb, and they will outline the exciting changes being implemented for BRBC’s children’s program. Carrie will share Mother’s Day Moments. A resident of Farmington, Arkansas, she and her husband Michael are the parents of four active girls, ages 4 to 6. Carrie has developed unique perspectives on motherhood through her years caring for troubled children and youth, and through observation of her own family and church families. She shares her observations—with a heavy sprinkling of humor— through social media pages and speaking engagements. Carrie is the daughter of Randy and Kristin Whitaker, and the granddaughter of Ruel and Carol Caraway.
