I’ve waited until this time (6 p.m. on Saturday) to send this to you, hoping I would be assured that there would be NO rain tomorrow. Sorry to say that I still don’t know. You will get a calling post call Sunday morning around 9 to confirm outdoor worship or to say we will cancel due to weather. Whatever the case, tomorrow will be a bit different than other weeks. Because we are expecting to worship outside, there are a few things you need to be aware of for Sunday. 1.) THERE IS NO WORSHIP GUIDE/BULLETIN FOR THIS SUNDAY. 2.) There will NOT be a time for “passing the peace of Christ”, liturgy or singing. 3.) We will not be passing the offering plate and therefore no doxology. 4.) Because of the above, there are no PowerPoint slides to follow along in the worship service if you are choosing to worship at home on YouTube. We continue to exercise care for one another and are quite aware that congregations around us are already opening their doors/ gathering for worship. We are praying that we too, will be open very soon. We still have a few challenges for us to make that step possible, but I assure you it will be very soon. If you chooses to join us electronically, here are a few suggestions for our worship together this Sunday.
1.) First, make sure that you have downloaded YouTube to your device that you will be viewing from. It is available on your Smartphone, computer/laptop, Smart TV, etc. or just copy and paste https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC55h6W4msRxu83x5DvGquoQ/featured. You should be on the Woodridge UMC page. 2.) Join us early to make sure that you are properly logged in and have the volume set for your preferences. We will start music playing around 9:50 a.m.. Worship service starts at 10:00 am.. 3.) CHANGES REGARDING PRAYER CONCERNS: Please email any prayer requests to:
[email protected] no later than 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. This Sunday only we will begin the worship service sharing joys , concerns and announcements. The joys and concerns will then be shared with our Prayer Ministry Team by Monday morning. 4.) If you are not available at 10:00 am or cannot get the live streaming to work, a recording of the video will be posted to the Woodridge UMC YouTube page. 5.) Please do not forget your financial contribution to the church!!!! You can mail it, drop it in the gold mail slot by the door on the east end of the building, or choose the e-giving option on the website.
