Workplace Travel Planning Partnership with DTO / NTA (Feb 2009) 8 pilot locations selected for travel plans (Dublin and countrywide) – now being extended to all locations

Staff survey distributed to the pilot locations 2 out of 3 travel to work by means other than driving a car. 1 in 10 cycle to work which is significantly above the national average. 1 in 3 people expressed an interest in car-sharing.  A significant number of people said they would take public transport if it was more reliable and the route network was improved. The lack of dedicated cycling lanes, condition of roads etc. is a major deterrent in encouraging more people to cycle. Computer analysis of staff home and work locations carried out
