WAVES FOR WATER IS SEEKING SUPPORT TO HELP VICTIMS OF HURRICANE MATTHEW IN HAITI Waves For Water is mobilizing an urgent clean-water disaster relief initiative in response to the hurricane that struck Haiti on Tuesday October 4, 2016. Hurricane Matthew, the fiercest Caribbean storm in nearly a decade, slammed into Haiti whipping it with 230 kilometre an hour winds and torrential rains. The country is struggling to cope with a rise in cholera cases with officials warning that contaminated water and a lack of hygiene are posing serious risks to thousands of people in the impoverished country. Their plan is to implement water filtration systems throughout the hardest hit areas by working with local networks, community centers, and individual families. If you would like to get involved and take action we have provided a few ways you can help.

Visit www.wavesforwater.org and make a donation. $50 can provide up to 100 people with access to clean water.
Start a fundraiser at http://forwater.co and rally friends and family to make donations designated toward the Hurricane Matthew Relief Initiative.

3. BECOME _FORWATER Create a clean water project through http://forwater.co and travel to Haiti yourself, distributing filters to those in need. (We do not recommend at this time)

DONATIONS People can donate directly to the Hurricane Matthew Relief Initiative on our site here: http://www.wavesforwater.org/project/hurricanematthewreliefinitiative The funds raised will go directly towards the purchase and transporting of additional filters to Haiti to feed the local networks set up on the ground.
FUNDRAISING In addition, people can create a personal fundraiser page at http://forwater.co/create-fundraising.html and crowd-fund for the Hurricane Matthew Relief Initiative through their social networks. It's important to note that the money raised through these fundraisers go towards the specific W4W project that the user selects when creating their fundraiser page. It is not a platform where the user gets the funds after the fundraiser is over. It is just a way for people to fundraise directly for our projects, but in a more personal way.
