Teachers (ELICOS) Navitas English Manly Casual Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment.

Navitas, or PIBT as it was then, was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. Since this time Navitas has significantly expanded the services it offers its students and clients and is now creating opportunities through lifelong learning for over 83,000 people in 23 countries per year. We are currently recruiting ELICOS teaching professionals to work at our Manly centre. These roles will be evening classes from 12 June 2018 up to full-time teaching load. Hours of work are 3pm to 9pm. Position Description - Teacher Reporting Responsible to: Responsible for:

College Manager / Director of Studies The effective development, delivery and evaluation of teaching/learning programs and teaching practices in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), and/or the ESOS Act and/or Government contract requirements.

Principal accountabilities Contributes to the highest standard of program provision by:  Identifying and analysing learner aspirations needs and goals  Planning learning programs which respond to and meet the aspirations, needs and goals of learners  Designing and delivering learning programs using a range of methodologies, resources and technologies to meet diverse learning styles and needs  Evaluating and developing resources for teaching and learning  Fostering a positive learning environment to motivate, engage and retain learners  Providing support, advice and guidance to learners  Continually improving use of technology resources and practices  Continually assessing learner progress and achievement  Providing accurate data for recording and reporting of program delivery. Contributes to the highest standard of teaching by displaying experience and knowledge of:  Current research and trends in TESOL, adult learning, language, literacy and numeracy, as applicable  Relevant Navitas English policies and procedures, curriculum frameworks, courses and/or Training Packages  Issues impacting learners  Technology relevant to the learner needs Contributes to the professional standing of Navitas English as a centre of excellence by:  Implementing and modelling high standards of work practice and reviewing, critically reflecting, and evaluating own practice  Participating and contributing to professional and curriculum development programs and taking responsibility for personal professional development  Working as a member of a team and independently  Continuing to upgrade skills, knowledge and qualifications to meet industry demand/needs  Maintaining the care and security of materials and equipment Contributes to the maintenance of client privacy by:  Ensuring privacy regulations are understood and implemented  Ensuring client records and personal information are stored securely according to Navitas English privacy policy  Cooperating with other Navitas English staff and external agencies in a way which ensures Navitas English complies with privacy regulations Contributes to the maintenance of a safe working environment by:  Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of staff and students at Navitas English  Co-operating with Navitas English or other persons as is necessary to enable compliance with any requirement under the OH&S Act
