Careers and Industry is Australia’s largest ELICOS provider, delivering courses to more than 8,000 students annually through eight mainland centres, with partner operations in Oman and Singapore. The Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for contributing to the standard of teaching and learning in EFS through playing a key role in the areas of staff professional development and continuous improvement of training and assessment practices. Objectives Supporting managers and trainers through: Planning and delivery of institutional professional development for teaching staff (trainers and assessors) Providing support to sites/colleges in the area of academic research, innovative projects and learning resources Contributing expertise to ensure training and assessment practices are compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements Essential requirements         

A postgraduate qualification in the education sector At least three years full time equivalent experience in teaching in TESOL or Literacy programs at adult, secondary or pre-tertiary-level A demonstrated record as a successful trainer, presenter, or workshop facilitator. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in a multi-cultural learning environment A sound knowledge of the VET regulatory framework Demonstrated knowledge of program and curricula requirements of AMEP and SEE with demonstrated skills in quality assurance monitoring of delivery and in assessment validation Sound research and analysis skills and capacity for systematic thinking Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise, plan and coordinate own workload Advanced skills in document formatting, indexing, layout and presentation and using office word processing, and presentation applications

Knowledge of AMEP and SEE contract requirements An understanding of quality assurance systems and practices An understanding of project management methodologies and practices Experience in coordinating administrative, information and evidence gathering projects and activities

Overview and Objectives of the Position The Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for contributing to the standard of learning and teaching in EFS through playing a key role in the planning and delivery of institutional professional development for staff, and through working with the Teaching and Learning Unit to provide support to EFS colleges in the area of academic research, innovative projects and learning resources. The role also involves contributing to a climate of compliance to help ensure that EFS colleges continue to meet their regulatory quality assurance, compliance and contractual obligations as a government funded vocational education and training provider, through provision of expertise to support the development and continuous improvement of systems, process and practices. The position reports to the Manager, Research, Quality and Compliance and is guided and supported by the Director, Education Programs and the AMEP and SEE Contract Managers.

Key Result Areas 1. Contributes to the highest standard of learning and teaching to NE/EFS clients and staff by: 

Contributing to academic research activities to ensure the flexibility and relevance of current academic delivery



Developing, monitoring and evaluating curriculum and educational resources to meet current and future needs; supporting colleges with identifying teaching and training issues, and delivering services or projects to meet changing learning and teaching needs and requirements



Playing a key role in the planning and delivery of staff professional development such as the EFS Professional Development day

2. Contributes to the professional standing of Navitas English/EFS as a provider of excellence by: 

Supporting Manager Research, Quality and Compliance, and Teaching and Learning Unit colleagues with regard to meeting provider regulatory requirements, quality assurance and compliance matters in both current AMEP and SEE program contracts, and in preparation for future contracts.



Supporting Manager Research, Quality and Compliance with the implementation of a rigorous quality assurance framework;



undertaking benchmarking activities to identify examples of best practice, identifying improvement opportunities related to maintaining standardised processes, documents and practices and coordinating improvement initiatives;

3. Contributes to the highest standards of Navitas English Learning and Teaching by: 

Supporting and facilitating the delivery of appropriate teacher/trainer professional development in learning and teaching, quality, and resource matters



Monitoring program/unit needs and communicating these to Manager Research, Quality and Compliance in a timely and effective manner

4. Actively contributes to the maintenance of a safe working environment, within their area of operations, by: 

Ensuring relevant occupational health and safety regulations are complied with within their area of responsibility



Cooperating as far as needed to enable NE/EFS to comply with regulations involving health, safety and welfare

Essential Criteria 
