Anti-microbial properties of of 88 Plus XT is certified and therefore may also be used for interior walls requiring microbial protection. Application
88 Plus XT Emulsion should be applied as per system recommended. Ensure that the primed surface is clean and dry. Whether new or old, the surface should be free from oil, grease, fungus etc. Masking tapes where used should be removed when the paint is still wet.
New Surfaces
88 Plus XT Emulsion should only be applied on a primed surface. Ideally the moisture content of the plastered walls should be less than 16% and pH should be between 8 & 9.
Previously Coated
2000 - 2100 psi 0.020" - 0.028" / 65° - 80°
Previously painted surface normally requires extensive preparation prior to repainting. All surfaces must be free from loose paint, dust, grease, oil, mould and fungus. Thorough sanding of the previous paint with Emery Sand Paper 100 # grit or mechanical grinding is required to remove old loose paint to reach a hard surface. If the previous coating thickness is high then complete removal of the coating to bare surface is required using water jet washing and mechanical grinding. Mould and fungus to be removed and treated with an anti-fungal wash. All surfaces should be thoroughly dried keeping surface moisture < 16% and pH = 8-9
Putty Application
Apply a thin coat of XT Putty for a smooth finish. Apply touch up putty to fill up minor indentations, Sand the puttied surface after 2 hours. Sand the surface with fine emery (320 or higher) or aloxite paper (600) to get a very smooth finish. The second coat of putty is specially recommended for a smooth surface.
Priming
A sandwich coat or primer on top of the puttied surface is essential for better finish and adhesion.
Special Recommendations
In case the surface temperature exceeds 35° C, wet the surface with water prior to application of primer, allowing sufficient time for the water to dry leaving the surface moist. To provide better health and safety to the applicators painting exterior walls, it is advisable to paint the west side wall surface in the mornings and east side wall surface in the afternoons to avoid direct sunlight exposure.

Keep out of reach of children and away from food and drink Do not use empty paint containers to store food Harmful if swallowed. If swallowed seek immediate medical attention. Do not breathe spray mist or dust from sanding. Use appropriate protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and if irritation persists, seek medical attention. Avoid contact with skin by using appropriate protection. Contact with skin may cause skin irritation. Splashes can be removed from skin by using soap & clean water. Do not pour left over paint down drains or into watercourses. Dispose off empty containers as per local regulations. Material Safety datasheet can be made available on request.
