PROPERTIES Drying Time

Under normal drying conditions surface dry 4-6 hours and recoatable after 16 hours. Allow for adequate ventilation during the drying period.

Gloss.

Composition

Pigment: Titanium Dioxide and coloured pigments. Resin: Alkyd / Urethane alkyd. Solvent: Dearomatised White Spirit.

Spreading Rate

Up to 15m² per litre depending on surface texture.

Wet Film Thickness

67 micrometres at 15m² per litre.

Dry Film Thickness

34 micrometres at 15m² per litre.

Volume Solids

51% Brilliant White other colours will vary.

Flash Point

40ºC (closed cup).

VOC Content

EU limit val ue for this prod uct (cat.A/d): 400 g/l (200 7) / 3 00 g/l (2 010) This product contains max. 299 g/l VOC.

Limitations

Do n ot a pply when a ir or s ubstrate temp eratures are l ikely to fall be low 8ºC or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.

PREPARATION New Surfaces

Additional surface preparation

Timber All surf aces m ust be suita bly dr y, a nd fre e from anything that will interfe re with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. R ub down with a suitable grade of a brasive paper and round sharp edges 1-3mm. Remove all dust. Timber with oils/extractives must be s wabbed with cle an meth ylated s pirit, freq uently cha nging the face of th e cloths. T reat knots with t wo t hin co ats of fresh kn otting. Fill an y fi xing holes, ope n joints and shallow surface defects with Sandtex Trade Ready Mixed Filler. Rub down with a suitable grade of abrasive paper. Remove all dust. Prior to primi ng the moisture content of the substrate sh ould not e xceed 18%. Prime with one coat of Permog laze Wood Primer or Permogl aze Universa l Metal Pr imer as requ ired. Apply on e coat o f Permoglaze Undercoat. All metals including galvanised Surfaces must be cle an and free from anything that will interfere with the materials to be applied. Wash with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any oth er cont aminants, freq uently ch anging the water. R inse thor oughly with c lean water. A llow to dr y. Ga lvanised s urfaces s hould be pre-tr eated with Per moglaze T Wash. Overall blackening of the surface will confirm satisfactory surface preparation. Non-ferrous metals Lightly a brade to a bri ght ( not p olished) surface - e xcluding galvanised s urfaces. Rinse th oroughly with cl ean water to rem ove al l resi des. Allo w to dr y. Prime, including g alvanised surfaces , with one coa t of Permogl aze Univ ersal M etal Prim er. Apply one coat of Permoglaze Undercoat. Ferrous metals Remove all millscale and rust back to c lean metal. Remove all residues. Prime within the working day with one coat of Permoglaze Universal Metal Primer. Apply one coat of Permoglaze Undercoat.

Previously decorated surfaces

Timber All surf aces m ust be suita bly dr y, a nd fre e from anything that will interfe re with the adhesion of the materia ls to be app lied. Remove all l oose, and fa iling or suspect paint. Pri or to p ainting th e mo isture shou ld no t ex ceed 1 8%. R emove g rey an d denatured surfaces by rubbing down with abrasive paper or by mechanical means and round sharp edges 1-3mm. Feather edges of sound p aint. Remove all dust. Organic growth must be removed and the areas trea ted with Crown Trade Fungicidal Solution. Remove a ny defective putt y glaz ing, cle an an d pr ime r ebates, re placement p utties must be allowed to form a hard skin. Treat knots with two thin coats of fresh knotting. Fill an y fi xing holes, ope n jo ints and sh allow s urface d efects with Sa ndtex T rade Ready Mi xed Filler or a t wo pack proprietary wood fi ller. Rub down with a s uitable grade of abrasive paper. Remove all dust. Metals All surf aces m ust be suita bly dr y, a nd fre e from anything that will interfe re with the adhesion of the materia ls to be app lied. Remove all l oose, and fa iling or suspect paint. Feather edges of sound paint. Remove all dust. Spot prime ferrous metals with one coat of Permoglaze Universal Metal Primer. Timber and metals Wash remai ning soun d pa int w ith hot water and li quid det ergent soluti on to remov e any c ontaminants, frequentl y chang ing the water. W et abraded to pr ovide a ke y. Rinse with clean water to remove all residues. A llow to dry. Bring forward and apply overall one coat of Permoglaze Undercoat.

COATING SYSTEM

Apply one or two coats as required. Maintain a wet edge.

APPLICATION

Stir well b efore use. A pply b y brush to a n even t hickness (a fin e, soft l ong fi lament bristle brush gives best results). Maintain a wet edge. On timber lay off in the direction of the grain.

CLEANING

Return surplus material to container. Wash with clean water immediately after use.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION FOR CDM FILE

Between mai ntenance re decoration surf aces ma y be washed with a warm water an d liquid detergent solution to remove surface dirt.

Apply all products in accor dance with BS 6 150: 2006 Code of practic e for painting of buildings and BS 8000 : Part 12 : 1 989 Code of practice for decorative wallcoverings and painting. Under n ormal and frost fre e conditions this prod uct will re main usable for up to two years if stored correctly and unopened.
