Islam is the second largest religious group after Christianity. It is truly a global religion with Muslims living everywhere from United States to South America to the Middle East and Asia. In fact, there are more Muslims living in India and Pakistan then the entire Middle East-North Africa region. Monday, April 13 | Women & Girls

Often marginalized, women in many Muslim countries are restricted in areas like rights, education, and dress. The well-being of women varies from country to country depending on the type of Islam practiced (for example: Sunni, Shia, Sufi or folk). As Americans we are often exposed to the extremists by the media like ISIS and the Taliban. It is true; women in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan and many others are subjected to discrimination and violence based on their gender. Afghanistan, India and the Democratic Republic of Congo are three of the most dangerous places to live as a woman no matter your religious faith. In South America many male Lebanese Muslims have immigrated to parts of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. They own most of the Black Market. They are marrying local women and having families and their intent is to win those countries for Islam. • • • • •

Pray for the hearts of the women of Islam Pray for safety Ask that they will know God’s love and the dignity they have through Him as one of His created beings Pray for governments to enforce existing laws protecting women and girls or create new ones on their behalf Pray for educational opportunities

Wednesday, April 15 | ISIS & Peace in the Middle East

We all have heard the the stories of terror coming from Iraq. A powerful and strongly financed extremist group is killing Christians and Muslims alike. Millions of Iraqi people have been displaced from their homes and are scraping by. It has been a particularly severe winter. While we pray for those suffering and bearing the brunt of this crisis let us also pray for our enemy because we have a powerful God who can change hearts and transform lives. • • • • •

Thursday, April 16 | Love/God Touching Hearts

The idea of a loving God is foreign to Muslims. Their “salvation” is based on fulfilling the five pillars of Islam. Love as the motivation for a sacrificial death and salvation as a free gift is in opposition to Muslim beliefs. • •

Pray that God’s love would touch and soften the hearts of the Muslim people, reaching into even the darkest of places. Pray for other unreached people groups (Hindu, Buddhist, and Sihk) within the 10/40 window (What is the 10/40 window? Find out here: http://joshuaproject.net/resources/ articles/10_40_window)

Tuesday, April 14 | Men & Boys

Muslims believe in dreams and visions and author David Garrison describes their power to reach Muslims to Christ in his book, A Wind in the House of Islam. He believes there is no greater time in history then now for Muslims becoming Christians. We need to pray for the men and leaders of Islam to have a life altering encounter with Jesus. • Pray for Godly dreams to reach the men and boys • Pray for softened hearts and open minds to God’s call • Pray for current and future leadership in positions of authority and power that influence the Muslim world.

Pray for the hearts of the ISIS members. God has the power to change any heart from evil to good (Remember Saul, the killer of Christians, became Paul, the Christ follower and great missionary). Pray that God’s love will strongly oppose the evil committed by ISIS members. Pray that what ISIS intends for evil and destruction God will use and turn into good and building up. Pray that God would sever the flow of financial resources funding ISIS power. We can also pray for the crisis in Syria and relations between Israel and Palestine.
