Opportunities in the Austin/Cedar Park area for volunteering, giving financial and food support, or for sharing a Thanksgiving meal during November are listed below:

Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM) You can help by donating funds to purchase holiday meals for families in crisis. The cost of each meal is approximately $15 and we are asking our churches and community to help as many families as they are able. Funds raised over and above the cost of the turkey meals will be used to provide hams for our “Hams for Hope” project in the spring, and purchase additional food to help stock the Food Pantry during the holiday season. Reveal Resource Center (RRC) Thanksgiving Meal Distribution: November 18 from 2 - 4 PM Must register in person at RRC on November 6 or 13 from 9 AM - 12 PM A financial donation of $20 will sponsor a complete meal for a family. Central Texas Food Bank: October 27 – November 16, Shift days/times: Monday - Saturday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 1:30 4:30 PM, with additional shifts on Tuesday/Thursday from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. In the weeks before Thanksgiving, volunteers are needed to sort food donations at the Food Bank to prepare for distribution through its partner agencies across Central Texas. Warehouse volunteers help ensure all of the food we distribute is safe, healthy and high quality by inspecting, cleaning, sorting, boxing and making food donations ready for distribution. Volunteer shifts are typically 2 ½ to three hours long and are available Monday through Saturday. Each shift can host up to 120 volunteers, with limited space for youth volunteers, ages 8 years old and older. El Buen Samaritano: El Buen needs volunteers on November 8 & 10 (ages 12 and up) to assist in registering families on November 8 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM & November 10 from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. As a client advocate, you will provide a friendly registration experience for clients who would like to receive a meal and you will help us better track the impact on families served. Distribution Day is on November 16 & 17 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Great Thanksgiving Banquet: Thanksgiving Meal for the Homeless community held Sunday, November 18 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It will be located at I-35 and 7th Street @ Church Under the Bridge. Need volunteers who are willing to serve food and offer hope, compassion, and fellowship to those in need. Volunteers are needed on November 17 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM and on November 18 from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Donations of $5 per meal are welcome. Please sign up at https://www.mpaustin.org/gtb.
