Since 1982, by God’s grace, the people of Community Bible Church have been able to progressively increase the number of missionaries we support. At present, we have 300+ missionaries worldwide. During the Coronavirus crisis it is our hope to be able to continue supporting these individuals. These men and women are on the frontlines of sharing the gospel with millions who desperately need Jesus Christ. In addition, we continue to be responsible for our operating expenses, many of which are fixed.

April 12, 2020 • Luke 23:33-43

1 SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2020 “SEE, WHAT A MORNING” See what a morning, gloriously bright with the dawning of hope in Jerusalem. Folded, the graveclothes, tomb filled with light, as the angels announce, “Christ is risen!” See God’s salvation plan, wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice, fulfilled in Christ, the Man, for He lives. Christ is risen from the dead. See Mary weeping, “Where is He laid?” as in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb, hears a voice speaking, calling her name. It’s the Master, the Lord, raised to life again! The voice that spans the years speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us will sound ‘til He appears, for He lives, Christ is risen from the dead. One with the Father, Ancient of Days, through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty. Honor and blessing, glory and praise to the King, crowned with pow’r and authority. And we are raised with Him, death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered, and we shall reign with Him, for He lives. Christ is risen from the dead! “CHRIST IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED” How can it be, the One who died has borne our sin through sacrifice to conquer every sting of death? Sing, sing hallelujah. For joy awakes as dawning light when Christ’s disciples lift their eyes, alive He stands, their Friend and King. Christ, Christ, He is risen. (Chorus) Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing hallelujah. Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed. The Power that raised Him from the grave now works in us to powerfully save. He frees our hearts to live His grace, go tell of His goodness. (Chorus) Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing hallelujah. Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing hallelujah. Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed. He is risen! He’s alive! He’s alive! Heaven’s gates are open wide! He’s alive! He’s alive! Now in heaven, glorified! He’s alive! He’s alive! Heaven’s gates are open wide! He’s alive! He’s alive! Now in heaven, glorified! He’s alive! He’s alive! Heaven’s gates are open wide! He’s alive! He’s alive! Now in heaven, glorified! He’s alive! He’s alive! He’s alive!

2 “BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD ABOVE” Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea, a great High Priest whose name is “Love,” who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands, my name is written on His heart, I know that while in heav’n He stands, no tongue can bid me thence depart, no tongue can bid me thence depart. When Satan tempts me to despair, and tells me of the guilt within, upward I look and see Him there who made an end to all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free, for God, the Just, is satisfied, to look on Him and pardon me, to look on Him and pardon me. Behold Him there! The risen Lamb, my perfect, spotless Righteousness, the great unchangeable I AM, the King of glory and of grace! One with Himself I cannot die, my soul is purchased with His blood, my life is hid with Christ on high, with Christ my Savior and my God, with Christ my Savior and my God. “CHRIST THE LORD IS RISEN TODAY- HE’S ALIVE” Christ the Lord is risen today. Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high. Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia! Lives again our glorious King! Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting, Alleluia! Dying once, He all doth save! Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave! Alleluia! He is alive. He’s alive. He is alive. He’s alive. Jesus, the Lamb crucified. He is alive. He’s alive. He is alive. He’s alive. He is alive. He’s alive. Jesus, the Lamb crucified. He is alive. He’s alive. Love’s redeeming work is done. Alleluia! Fought the fight, the battle won. Alleluia! Death in vain forbids Him rise. Alleluia! Christ has opened paradise. Alleluia! He is alive. He’s alive. He is alive, He’s alive. Jesus, the Lamb glorified. He is alive. He’s alive! He’s alive!

3 “THE POWER OF THE CROSS” Oh, to see the dawn of the darkest day, Christ on the road to Calvary. Tried by sinful men, torn and beaten, then nailed to a cross of wood. Oh, to see the pain written on Your face, bearing the awesome weight of sin. Every bitter thought, every evil deed crowning Your bloodstained brow. (Chorus) This, the pow’r of the cross, Christ became sin for us. Took the blame, bore the wrath, we stand forgiven at the cross. Now the daylight flees, now the ground beneath quakes as its Maker bows His head. Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life, ‘Finished!’ the vict’ry cry. (Chorus) This, the pow’r of the cross, Christ became sin for us. Took the blame, bore the wrath, we stand forgiven at the cross. Oh, to see my name written in the wounds, for through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death, life is mine to live, won through Your selfless love. This, the power of the cross, Son of God, slain for us. What a love! What a cost! We stand forgiven at the cross. OFFERTORY “HOW DEEP THE FATHER’S LOVE FOR US” How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure, that He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turns His face away as wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory. Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders. Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished. His dying breath has brought me life. I know that it is finished. I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no power, no wisdom, but I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I can not give an answer, but this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom. BENEDICTION “BECAUSE HE LIVES” Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives.
