THE BIG DAY Saturday, May 21st Arrowhead Stadium, Lot C Event opens at 8am Join us early for Fun Zone activities including face painting, colored hair spray, crown decorating and dancing with a DJ!
Race starts at 9am sharp! The race will go on, rain or shine! In the unlikely event of dangerous weather, the race director may cancel or amend the race for everyone’s safety. No refunds will be given. If weather conditions are unstable on race morning check our Facebook page for updates.

The big day is almost here! In just a couple weeks your GOTR girl will join over 2,000 girls from fifteen counties across the Greater Kansas City area to complete her goal of crossing the finish line at the Girls on the Run seasonending 5k event. We are so excited to share this milestone with you and the girls! The following is information you will need for pre-race and race day. Registration for the 5k Girls on the Run program participants are ALREADY registered for the 5k. You do not have to register your GOTR girl to participate in the race. PARENTS, GUARDIANS and other COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS must complete the online registration and pay the registration fee. We strongly encourage each girl to have a buddy to run with at the 5k. With more than 4,000 runners on the course, her running buddy will be the key to making this a fun and safe experience for her. A running buddy can be a friend, family member, coach, teacher anyone who will be an encouraging partner for your GOTR girl! The registration fee is $35 until May 16th. Registration is available at packet pickup (see next page) or on race day for $40. Go to www.gotrkc.org to register for the 5k.
Getting There
PACKET PICK-UP
LOCATION: Arrowhead Stadium One Arrowhead Dr., Kansas City, MO. Please enter at Gate 2 just off the Blue Ridge cutoff.
Coaches will have your girl’s race bib. If you are participating in the 5k and registered online, they may also have your bib, if you asked them to pick it up. Please coordinate that with your GOTR girl’s coach. If not, you can pick up your tshirt and bib at either of the packet pick up locations:

Saturday, May 21st* 8am-9am Arrowhead Stadium *The race day packet pickup lines will be long! Pick up ahead of time to avoid a wait!
PARKING: You will be directed by parking attendants to park in Lot D. School bus parking are located in Lot B. Parking attendants will restrict traffic around the course from 8:30am to 11am so there may be traffic congestion for late arrivals. Please allow enough time for traffic, parking, meeting up with the team and some Fun Zone activities before the race starts at 9am. Maps of the course is below.
WHAT SHOULD SHE WEAR? Girls on the Run girls should wear their BLUE t-shirt. Heart & Sole girls should wear their WHITE t-shirt. Her coach will have her bib. At the race please help her attach her bib to the front of her t-shirt with safety pins. Her timing chip is attached to the back of her bib. Of course tutus, tiaras, capes, funny hats and all that fun are not only allowed but encouraged! Check with your GOTR girl’s coaches—they may have something up their sleeve for their team already!
What to Expect on Race Day Please plan to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30am. Your GOTR girl will meet her team in School Village in Lot C. All teams will have a large flag which will be placed in alphabetical order. This is also a great place to meet family members who are coming to watch the 5k. The Fun Zone will be open from 8:00 to 11:00am for girls and their families to enjoy before and after the race. Girls can get their faces painted, hair sprayed funky colors, take silly photos in the photo booths and participate in dancing and games for prizes with the DJ! Enjoy all the pre-race fun until 8:45am. At that time your girl and anyone running with her should be back at her team’s flag to get ready to start the race. Free photos will be taken before, during and after the event. The photographers will identify your girl in pictures using her bib number and email you shots of her a couple days after the race! No need to stress over capturing a photo of your daughter crossing the finish line. Our professional photographer will have it covered! Some service dogs will be on the course with girls so we ask that you please leave your family pets at home. Wearing headphones is not permitted for safety reasons. Strollers are allowed on the course. Please be respectful of runners and start in the back. We have hired an EMS team for any medical needs. The team will be located near the outer road of Lot C to attend to first aid/medical needs during the event. Complimentary water, bagels and chocolate milk will be provided to finishers. Coffee will also be available to all spectators!
