The Big Pedal website and wallchart instructions 1. We’ve created a class record sheet to make collecting the number of cycle, scooter and supporter journeys at your school easier. This can be found on the resources page of the Big Pedal website www.bigpedal.org.uk/resources

2. Printing out one sheet per class is enough for the whole two weeks of the Big Pedal or for one or both of the two single challenge days. The two single challenge days have been highlighted in blue on the class record sheet. Your school may instead choose to record on one sheet per year group, or just use one for the whole school.

3. During each day of the Big Pedal (or on the single challenge days) you will need to write down the number of cycle and scooter journeys made by pupils in the class (or year or school – depending on how you have chosen to record them) as well as any supporter journeys. An example is shown below:

4. It is best to collect your journey details in the morning. Then log in to the Big Pedal website to input your details at www.bigpedal.org.uk/login. If you have any problems logging in, you can contact us at [email protected]

5. Once you have logged in you will be taken to your school’s ‘homepage’, and here you can:  log (input) your journey details  see where your school is on the map and which other schools in your area are also taking part in the Big Pedal  upload photos during the event. *Remember there is a photo competition where you can win a great prize for the best photo. More info can be found at www.bigpedal.org.uk/prizes

6. When you click on ‘Log your journeys’ you will be taken to the page below:

7. On this page you can start entering the journey details that you collected. An example is shown below:

8. Once all of your classes’ journey details have been entered, you can then go back in to your school’s homepage (you may need to refresh the page) to download your daily wheelie. Please note, all of your classes or year groups need to have completed their daily journey details so that the website can calculate which wheelie you will receive, so make sure you wait for everyone’s data to be inputted into the system before you download and print off your wheelie.

9. You will then need to click ‘Download and Print’ to print off your daily wheelie. Please note this is in PDF format, and we advise you not to resize the file or image in any way as it has been specially designed to fit in your wallchart. If you have any problems downloading your wheelie please contact [email protected] and we can email you a copy. 10. Cut out your wheelie along the dotted lines.

11. Once you have cut out your wheelie you can then stick it to your wallchart (you can use glue, blu tack, sellotape or anything else you have that will do the job).

12. Make sure you do this each day, once you have entered all your journey details in to the website. 13. Once the competition is over, you can turn your wallchart around and display your Big Pedal certificate.
