Island Summer Movie Festival: The Blind Side: Learning to See By Sherman Chau, August 02, 2020

Seeing is connecting. One of God's names is “El Roi,” which means the God who sees me . She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me” Genesis 16:13

We need to overcome our Blind Side to skin colour, and learn to see People of all colours as precious …there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb… And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God.” Revelation 7:9-10

To overcome our Blind Side to poverty, We need to see the potential in people. Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:6 We need to overcome our Blind Side for our stuff, and see our possessions as belonging to God. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1. “A bit of attention and a kind word - that's how little it takes to affect someone's life.” Who is that someone you can “see” this week? 2. Ask God to show you if you've recently treated someone differently because of their appearance. How can you see them as Jesus does next time you see them?
