Sermon Title and Scriptures July 3, 2016 - Guest Preacher Dr. Mark Bowdidge
Choir Anthems Thank you, Central Christian Church Community, for the lovely farewell reception and many well-wishes. We were privileged to be part of the life of this Church for 16 years, and will miss you all tremendously. We now consider ourselves “non-resident members” and will stay as connected as we can through The Call and CCC website. Carol & Bob Newman
In the month of July, the choir will be singing their favorite anthems from the past year. If you have had a favorite anthem this year, come on Sunday mornings to worship and maybe you’ll be able to hear it again. 7/3/16 Peace I Give to You 7/17/16 Lord of the Dance 7/24/16 Prayer of St. Francis 7/31/16 What I Have I Will Give Thee

As Jesus said in Luke 18:16, “Let the little children come to me,” we listened and followed his direction. This past week Central Christian opened its doors to the community and held our Vacation Bible School. The children came to the church, many not really knowing what to expect or what was going to happen. But as the time went on they became more and more relaxed, feeling more comfortable, and eventually were able to sing two songs to us in the sanctuary on Sunday morning. The week saw about 30 children walking around in our halls,
filling the church with laughter, as well as, their parents, guardians and our own volunteers. We served food for about 65 people for each meal. The children were able to hear stories from the Bible, we were able to do crafts, learn some science about bubbles, have some recreation time, enjoy the company of each other and the love that the church has for the children of the community. On Saturday they were even able to have fun with an inflatable “bounce house” and water slide. I would like to extend many thanks to Joyce Thomas for planning and directing our VBS,
she did a wonderful job. I understand that she has next year’s theme already picked out, so if you like superheroes let her know. I would like to thank all the volunteers that helped on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I would like to thank everyone who donated cookies, breakfast casseroles, and anything else that was used during the week. And I would like to thank everyone at Central Christian Church. It is because of everyone that we are able to host our VBS and to provide a meal to everyone attending. The attitude of outreach in this church continues to be what drives each one of us and allows the church to be a big part of the community. Thank you all for your support and love for this year’s VBS program and for the many
years of VBS to come.
