Mark has led us through the past two years with his strategic visioning and quick wit. I welcome our new Chairman Tim Hogans and look forward to an exciting year for our members. Please join us at the Ft Lauderdale/Coral Springs Marriott on November 2 at “State of the Chamber” presented by First Data. The Board of Directors are in the process of completing our three year strategic plan which should be finalized by the end of the month. Our main objective is to help you grow your business by providing the resources that you need to stay relevant in our ever-changing business climate. Myself, as well as two of our staff members, had the chance to attend the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) annual conference this past month. The

Some new programs we were able to secure for you include a job integration software and a partnership with Google to conduct webinars to help you grow your business. Commissioner Michael Udine has been working with the County to streamline their procurement procedures to provide opportunities for small businesses to become registered vendors. The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development is conducting an informational workshop at the Northwest Regional Library on October 8th from 5:30- 7:30 pm. ESBD staff will provide updates; this is a great opportunity to take your business to the next level.

Broward Health Coral Springs WELCOMES First Babies Born in New Tower Broward Health Coral Springs has welcomed the first babies born in the new Maternity Place, part of the four-story patient tower recently opened following a two-year $65 million expansion project. Baby girl Kloe Vasquez was the first to arrive on September 13, 2018, at 4:38 p.m. The expanded Maternity Place includes all-private labor and delivery rooms, a dedicated triage and recovery area, and direct access to the advanced Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital, which features all-private rooms. “Seeing the parents’ faces as they embraced their new babies and being part of such an important milestone in a family’s life, is a great reminder of why we come to work every day,” said Broward Health Coral Springs CEO Jared Smith.
