It was incredible to hear directly from students that attend the seven high schools in Coral Springs, Coconut Creek and Parkland. They discussed their projects, as well as expressing gratitude to our incredible Chamber members for all of the time dedicated throughout the year to support the DECA and BPA Clubs of the schools. In addition, we were able to connect student interns with our local businesses. I urge you to consider hiring a summer intern and contribute to shaping the future for our leaders of tomorrow. Additionally, the Coral Springs Small Business Leader of the Year, Kim Kadel, from North Broward Sports and Activities Magazine and the Coconut Creek Small Business Leader of the Year, Seth Fellman, from Morlin Hospitality will be recognized at the Broward Council of Chambers County Luncheon in May. Members of the Ambassador committee joined the Chamber staff in a Chamber Crawl this past Friday. We visited 13 businesses and had a blast! We would like to thank Commissioner Joshua Simmons for speaking at our last Government Affairs committee meeting. The Coconut Creek Chamber Council joined the City of Coconut Creek and planted an Oak tree at Coconut Creek City Hall in honor of Arbor Day. The Creek Council also received a proclamation from the City Commission for Arbor Day. There is another special election in Coral Springs on June 18th. We have six candidates running for Commission Seat #2, so please make sure to get the word out to vote and have your voice heard!
