Rachel Simmons is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls and The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence. Rachel co-founded the Girls Leadership Institute, a national non-profit, to develop the emotional intelligence, communication skills, and confidence of girls and young women. She has appeared on Oprah and the Today Show and Odd Girl Out was adapted into a highly acclaimed Lifetime television movie.

Human Options recognizes National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by bringing the community together at our annual luncheon to explore ways in which we can break the cycle and prevent abuse. The funds raised help us provide safety, healing and a way forward to families in Orange County. From our emergency hotline and shelter, to counseling, legal advocacy, transitional housing and community education, our comprehensive services make a significant and lasting difference in the lives of thousands of people each year.
