The Episcopal Diocese of Texas Hotels for Council 2014 The 165th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas will be held February 7-8, 2014, at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Boulevard, Galveston, Texas. The Diocese has arranged for special rates at three hotels within walking distance of the Galveston Island Convention Center (GICC). All rooms are subject to a 15% occupancy tax. Check-in time is after 4 p.m.; check-out time is prior to 11 a.m. To guarantee reservations, all three hotels require a first night’s deposit of room plus tax. Guests may cancel reservations up to 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty. The deadline for reservations into this group block is January 7, 2014. Reservation requests received after 5 p.m. on January 7 will be accepted on an availability basis.
