Scriptures Ephesians 4:25-27 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. 26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Ephesians 5:19-20 “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Right after this, Paul is going to talk specifically to husbands and wives and then to children and he starts that off by saying, “there is a way that you’re to speak to each other in the home.”

Ephesians 4:31-32 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 5:21 “…submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 6:4 “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 5:15-18 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.”

Six ways we should relate and live in the family: 1. Be patient and self-controlled. Ephesians 4:25-27 Men – you are the thermostat. Women – you are the thermometer. Children – you are the mirror.

2. Give praise and encouragement. Ephesians 4:29; Proverbs 18:21; Ephesians 5:19-20

3. Extend forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32

4. Practice submission. Ephesians 5:21

5. Offer instruction. Ephesians 6:4

6. Do it all in God’s Power.
