RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT We are looking for a part-time administrative assistant in the Religious Education Office at St. Jane. A candidate would have an interest in and love for the ministry of Religious Education and Spiritual Formation; help with registrations, secretarial duties, and support for the various programs. He/she would need to have worked with a database, know Microsoft Office Suite, and be a welcoming presence to all the families of the parish. Part-time hours would include Tuesday afternoons and evenings and an occasional weekend. Send cover letter and resume to Sally Daniel at [email protected].

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Are you an adult Catholic who has not yet completed your sacraments of initiation? Do you know someone who might be interested? RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm beginning in September. To speak to someone regarding the RCIA or to participate in the sessions, contact Ken Clansky at [email protected] or 301-922-5017, or Sally Daniel at [email protected] or 301-530-1640. CCD REGISTRATION FOR 2015-2016 Registration for next year’s CCD classes is taking place. CCD T EACHERS NEEDED FOR 2015-2016 CCD teachers are needed for next year’s CCD classes. Teachers are needed in kindergarten, and grades 2, 4, and 5. Co-catechists are also needed. IN OUR YOUNG ADULT FELLOWSHIP For single Catholics, ages 22-35. Meet monthly for spiritual and social events. YOUNG ADULT KAYAKING Catch some sun and some beautiful views of DC from the Potomac with the Young Adult Fellowship! Join us for a morning kayak in Georgetown on Saturday, September 5. We will meet in the St. Jane parking lot at 9:30 am and carpool down to the Key Bridge Boathouse. Cost is $15 for an hour rental. Standup paddle boards are also available.

Classroom student lists will be posted on the “morning entrance doors” under the awning, on Saturday, August 29. On the first day of school, parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in the longstanding St. Jane de Chantal tradition of walking their children into the classroom and meeting the teacher.

SPACE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR Most of our grades are fully enrolled for the 2015-16 school year, however, a few grades do still have space available. If you are interested in enrolling a student, please visit our school website, www.dechantal.org and review information under the admissions tab. SCHOOL FACULTY AND STAFF RETURN The school office will be closed the week of August 24. During that week, the faculty and staff return to prepare for the 2015-16 school year. Teachers will attend the 8:00 am Mass on Monday, August 24, and spend the remainder of the day participating in a spiritual retreat. Tuesday through Friday the faculty will review, plan, and continue to organize

Music ministry is an integral part of the liturgical celebrations of St. Jane’s. Just as Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to full, conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations rightly demanded by the very nature of liturgy, it is also calls on individuals to participate in music ministry so that these celebrations may be enhanced.
