The Professional Women’s Roundtable - Networking on the Course! “Isn’t it fun to go out on the course and lie in the sun?” said Bob Hope.

“I really enjoyed the last PWR meeting at the Country Club Networking on the Course. The hands on experience was very helpful. I really appreciated the handout we received. Great lunch and fun opportunity to network.” Joan Zoller, Trademark Solutions.

Last month the Professional Women’s Roundtable (PWR) did more than lie in the sun. Under the guidance of Marietta Country Club ’s golf pro Rod Harris, the ladies learned golf basics including the proper stance and proper grip. They enjoyed the challenges of a putting contest. It was all about “Networking on the Course.” They also enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Chef Andrew VonVille with plenty of time to do business over lunch or on the greens.

In addition to networking with these women, we are also given tips and tools that are crucial to our continued success in our specific professions from body language to networking on the golf course and much more.” Carolyn Stephanik-Roesch, Marietta Office Supply.

Chamber Live — Monday Now at a new time 8:40am! Tune into WMOA AM 1490 each and every Monday. Sponsored by

2012-2013 MACC Board

July certainly was an eventful month. Our region was hit hard by a derecho. We’ve suffered floods, blizzards, tornadoes, and now a derecho. Defined as a widespread, long-lived, straightline windstorm associated with a fast-moving band of severe thunderstorms, this derecho hit hard and both individuals and businesses suffered significant economic loss. The strength of this community is that so many reached out to help those in need during the storm’s aftermath. It’s a special quality unique to Marietta and other small communities and just one more reason why this is a good place to live and work. The Chamber Board sets goals in several areas each year at our April board strategic planning meeting. This month we will focus on the Member Benefits and Programs committee. Headed by Steve Porter with able assistance from Rob Schaffer, this board committee is involved with overseeing the products and services that provide value, direct or indirect, for our members. What does this mean to you, our MACC Member? It means we are continually evaluating services, programs and

events that promote our members’ businesses, including our opportunities for you to network with fellow businesses in order to develop productive business relationships. We know that people do business with people they know. MACC strives to help you know (and be known by) others in our local business community. Goals established for 2012-2013 are: 1. Focus on membership retention and growth. a.Evaluate perceived versus actual value of Chamber membership. b.Redefine fee structure and business classifications. 2. Undertake a closer evaluation of Chamber programs and benefits, especially Tech Tuesday, B2B, PWR, and Marietta Bucks. 3. Examine affinity programs in terms of value, income, and service/benefit to members. 4. Encourage greater participation. We need your feedback on our programs, events and benefits, so please share your suggestions and ideas.

Always inspect the ladder prior to using it. If the ladder is damaged, it must be removed from service and tagged until repaired or discarded. Always maintain a 3-point (two hands and a foot, or two feet and a hand) contact on the ladder when climbing. Keep your body near the middle of the step and always face the ladder while climbing.
