Day 6: TUE, FEB 09: JERUSALEM. Today begins with a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. Star:ng at the Western (Wailing) Wall where the faithful Jews cry their pe::ons to God, we proceed to the Temple Area of Mt. Moriah. Visit the El Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock which is built on the ancient site of Solomon's Temple (Genesis 22:914) and over the Rock of Sacrifice where Abraham offered Isaac (Genesis 22) and the ceremonial sacrifice of animals took place. A8er this, we walk along the Via Dolorosa to Pilate's Judgment Hall, the Chapel of the Flagella:on, the Ecce Homo Arch (John 19:13) where Jesus was tried before Pilate (Mark 15:6). This a8ernoon is at leisure for shopping or other pursuits on our own. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
Day 1: THU, FEB 04: NORTH AMERICA -‐ EUROPE. Tour members gather at the :cket counter at the airport three hours prior to our departure to Europe. Dinner and breakfast are served in-‐flight. Day 2: FRI, FEB 05: EUROPE -‐ HOLY LAND-‐ JOPPA. Upon our arrival at the Tel Aviv airport, we are met and travel to Ancient Joppa on the Sea. Joppa is where Jonah set sail and where Peter raised Dorcas from the dead. It was also the home of Simon the Tanner. Con:nue to our hotel in a suburb of Tel Aviv -‐ situated on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Dinner is served at our hotel. Weather permidng, we suggest a walk on the beach. Day 3: SAT, FEB 06: TEL AVIV -‐ GALILEE. A8er breakfast, we drive through the citrus groves and farms of the rich land of Sharon, northward to Caesarea, the Roman city of Herod where sights include Crusader for:fica:ons and the Roman aqueducts and amphitheater. We thentemp drive through the Jezreel Valley to the fields of Armageddon (Revela4on 16:16) and Megiddo. Con:nue northward along the Mediterranean Sea to Haifa and Mt. Carmel -‐ the biblical site of Elijah's contest with the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Traveling westward across Galilee, we view Mt. Tabor (Psalm 9:12), Deboriya -‐ the hometown of the prophetess Deborah -‐ at the foothill of Mt. Tabor (Judges 4 and 5). Overnight at our hotel on the shore of the beau:ful Sea of Galilee.
Day 4: SUN, FEB 07: TIBERIAS -‐ CAPERNAUM -‐ CAESAREA PHILIPPI -‐ MT. HERMON. This day will be an exci:ng day in the Galilee area a8er a delicious breakfast. We depart the Roman hot springs resort city of Tiberias via a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum (John 6:24) to walk among the ancient ruins of the first century synagogue where Jesus preached (MaEhew 4:1317). Then on to the Mt. of Bea:tudes w h e r e J e s u s p r e a c h e d t h e " S e r m o n o n t h e Mount" (MaEhew 57) and to Tabgha -‐ the chapel dedicated to the mul:plica:on of the loaves and fishes -‐ (Mark 6:3444). We then proceed to upper Galilee and the site of Peter's confession (MaEhew 16:16) at Caesarea Philippi and to Mt. Hermon (Psalm 89:12) the probable site of the Transfigura:on (MaEhew 17:1-‐8) and the present day Golan Heights where Israel, Lebanon and Syria come together. We follow the fresh mountain waters of Mt. Hermon to the Sea of Galilee and to the outlet passage at the southern :p of the Sea. We stop at the beau:ful Pilgrims Park at the Jordan River. Time for an op:onal bap:sm if you wish. Return to our hotel for overnight. Day 5: MON, FEB 08: NAZARETH -‐ JERICHO -‐ JERUSALEM. Early morning departure to Cana and then to Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus, where we will visit the Church of the Annuncia:on (Luke 1:5-‐42) and Mary's Fountain (Luke 4:1622). Then to Bethshean, the ancient city that was excavated a long :me ago and which forms the best preserved Roman-‐ Byzan:ne city in the land. A8erwards, we travel south through the Jordan Valley to ancient Jericho where the walls came tumbling down and a commanding view of the Mt. of Tempta:on (MaEhew 4:1-‐11) and Elisha's Fountain. We con:nue to Jerusalem through the Judean wilderness. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in the Holy City of Jerusalem.
the Mt. of Olives (MaEhew 24:3) with a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Here, we visit the Chapel of the Ascension, the Church of Pater Noster and the Dominus Flevit. We walk along Hosanna Road to the Gethsemane to visit the Church of All Na:ons which stands on the Rock of Agony where Jesus was betrayed by Judas (MaEhew 26:3657). See the Pillar of Absalom, the Eastern (Golden) Gate and the Pinnacle of the Temple. We then drive to Mt. Zion where we visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu on the site of Caiaphas' House, the Room of the Last Supper (Luke 22:1420) and the Tomb of King David. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 9: FRI, FEB 12: JERUSALEM. This morning, we see New Jerusalem: the Hebrew University, the Shrine of the Book that houses the Dead Sea Scrolls, Yad Vashem -‐ the immensely moving memorial to the six million martyrs of the Holocaust -‐ and the Model City of Jerusalem which depicts, in miniature, the Holy City as it appeared in the first century. A8er lunch, we return to Jerusalem to walk through the Old City bazaars to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the Garden Tomb and Golgotha -‐ Place of the Skull -‐ for a worship service. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Day 10: SAT, FEB 13: JERUSALEM -‐ TEL AVIV -‐ NORTH AMERICA. Early morning departure from Jerusalem to the Tel Aviv Airport for our return home -‐ the end of a most enjoyable journey.
Day 7: WED, FEB 10: JERUSALEM / DEAD SEA / MASADA / JERUSALEM. This morning we drive via the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. First we stop at Qumran, where we will see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Con:nue via Ein Gedi, along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada, a truly remarkable piece of history. Ascend by cable car to visit the magnificent ruins of the fortress where from 70 to 73 A.D. the Jewish defenders made a last stand in their revolt against Rome and where the remains of storehouses, cisterns and a 6th century Byzan:ne church are s:ll on view. Return to Jerusalem crossing the Judean Hills for dinner and overnight. Day 8: THU, FEB 11: BETHLEHEM -‐ JERUSALEM. This morning, we drive south to Bethlehem. We visit the Church of the Na:vity, the birthplace of Jesus, and Shepherds Fields (Luke 2:120) then the Field of Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 1:16 17 & 4:13). We return to Jerusalem and proceed to Mt. Scopus and
