The Collect O Lord, you have taught us that without love whatever we do is worth nothing: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love, the true bond of peace and of all virtue, without which whoever lives is accounted dead before you. The First Reading: Leviticus 19:1-2, 9-18 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them: You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the Lord your God. You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; and you shall not lie to one another. And you shall not swear falsely by my name, profaning the name of your God: I am the Lord. The Epistle: 1 Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-23 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. Announcements Highbridge Voices Concert Come back in the evening on February 26th at 5PM to experience the popular and extraordinary Highbridge Voices, a Downtown Music at Grace Church performance. We have inspiring, soulful and uplifting music for you to enjoy in the warm company of our dedicated, long time members. This invitation also extends to the younger members of our church community. Anna and I would like to explore the possibility of expanding the children’s choir into a youth (under 21!) choir. I know we have quite a few younger members who have great musical gifts. If you are interested, please contact either Anna or myself. We are delighted to have our young people sing in the10am service every third Sunday of the month. We would like to expand this group to include all our young people, up to age 21. This youth choir will be practicing every Sunday right after service in the choir room. All are welcome! Flu Warning The Flu season this year is very intense and the CDC (Center for Disease Control) makes the following recommendations to minimize its effects and spread: get the flu vaccine; if you are sick with flu like illness, avoid crowds, limit contact with others; cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and wash your hands frequently. The Elderly and Young Children are more susceptible to the virus and should be very cautious. Please consult a Physician if your symptoms are severe.
