“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” (2 Corinthians 1:21–22, NIV)

GROWTHWORK 1. AS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS, GOD HAS ANOINTED ME AND PUT HIS SPIRIT IN MY HEART. 2. IN CRISIS I WILL REMEMBER I HAVE AN ANOINTING. “And I, though anointed king, was helpless to do anything about it. These sons of Zeruiah are too much for me. GOD, requite the criminal for his crime!” (2 Samuel 3:39, Message) 3. IN CRISIS I WILL PRAY, “HOLY SPIRIT GIVE ME WISDOM, GUIDANCE, AND POWER. “The Spirit of the LORD will rest upon that king. The Spirit will give him wisdom and understanding, guidance and power.” (Isaiah 11:2, NCV) “The life-giving Spirit of GOD will hover over him, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives direction and builds strength, the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-of-GOD. Fear-of-GOD will be all his joy and delight. He won’t judge by appearances, won’t decide on the basis of hearsay. He’ll judge the needy by what is right, render decisions on earth’s poor with justice. His words will bring everyone to awed attention. A mere breath from his lips will topple the wicked. Each morning he’ll pull on sturdy work clothes and boots, and build righteousness and faithfulness in the land.” (Isaiah 11:2–5, The Message) 4.
