Praise & Thanksgiving *The Processional Hymn 57

“O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing”

*The Affirmation of Faith Written by the 2013 Confirmation Class

We are people who make a promise to God and each other of prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. We promise to pray for the sick and needy, for everybody even if we don’t know them, for the homeless all around us, for people going through hard times, and for the people who don’t have a relationship with God. *Please stand as you are able. The congregation speaks or sings the text in bold type.

AZMON 8:30 Led by Brittney Marzullo

We promise to be present, to come to worship every week and go to Sunday School, to study the Bible so we know what we’re talking about, to serve locally and go on mission trips, and to be the Church no matter where we are. We promise to give gifts by tithing, by making smart decisions with our

money so we can give, by blessing others out of our blessings, and by going without what we want so others can have what they need. We promise to offer service to help feed the hungry, to serve in places God wants us, to make God’s house the place to be and to go where people need Jesus. And we promise to witness so people will know our story, so people will know God’s story, so people will know and discover their story, so all people will know God’s love. We believe that with God we are strong and powerful, protected, comforted, and assured of eternal life.

Without God we are lost, incomplete, and helpless. We believe that with Jesus we are saved, forgiven, shepherded, and instructed. Without Jesus we are alone, empty, and without salvation. We believe that with the Holy Spirit we are watched over, awesome, guided, and fulfilled. Without the Holy Spirit we are powerless, vulnerable, exposed, and wandering. We believe that with the Church we are family, kept in check, connected, and supported. Without the Church we are alone, lost, confused, and empty.

*The Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
