This  Sacred  Hour   Worship  with  Song   The  Lord’s  Unfathomable  Power  and  Mystery       -‐    The  wonder  of  created  Earth  -‐  “Where  were  you  when  I  laid  the  foundations  of  the   earth?  Tell  me,  if  you  know  so  much.  Who  determined  its  dimensions  and  stretched  out   the  surveying  line?  What  supports  its  foundations,  and  who  laid  its  cornerstone  as  the   morning  stars  sang  together  and  all  the  angels  shouted  for  joy?  (Job  38:4-‐7)         -‐    And  His  sovereignty  over  it  -‐  “Have  you  ever  commanded  the  morning  to  appear  and   caused  the  dawn  to  rise  in  the  east?  Have  you  made  daylight  spread  to  the  ends  of  the   earth,  to  bring  an  end  to  the  night’s  wickedness?  As  the  light  approaches,  the  earth   takes  shape  like  clay  pressed  beneath  a  seal;  it  is  robed  in  brilliant  colors.  (Job  38:12-‐14)           “Honor  The  Lord,  you  heavenly  beings;  honor  The  Lord  for  his  glory  and  strength.  Honor   The  Lord  for  the  glory  of  his  name.  Worship  The  Lord  in  the  splendor  of  his  holiness.”    (Psalm  29:1-‐2)     Through  Language  I  Wouldn’t  Have  Otherwise     Riches  I  heed  not,  nor  man’s  empty  praise.  Though  mine  inheritance  now  and  always.   Thou  and  thou  only  first  in  my  heart.  High  King  of  Heaven,  my  treasure  thou  art.    -‐  Be   Thou  My  Vision   Oh  death,  where  is  your  sting?  Oh  hell,  where  is  your  victory?  Oh  church,  come  stand  in   the  light,  our  God  is  not  dead,  He’s  alive,  He’s  alive!    -‐  Christ  Is  Risen     Come  to  earth  to  taste  our  sadness,  He  whose  glories  knew  no  end.  By  his  life  he  brings   us  gladness,  our  redeemer,  shepherd,  friend.  Leaving  riches  without  number,  born  within   a  cattle  stall.  This  the  everlasting  wonder,  Christ  was  born  the  Lord  of  all.    -‐  Come  Thou   Long  Expected  Jesus     I  will  not  boast  in  anything;  no  gifts,  no  power,  no  wisdom.  But  I  will  boast  in  Jesus  Christ,   His  death  and  resurrection.  Why  should  I  gain  from  His  reward?  I  cannot  give  an  answer.   But  this  I  know  with  all  my  heart,  His  wounds  have  paid  my  ransom.  -‐  How  Deep  The   Father’s  Love  For  Us     In  Response  To  His  Love

“Now,  most  people  would  not  be  willing  to  die  for  an  upright  person,  though  someone   might  perhaps  be  willing  to  die  for  a  person  who  is  especially  good.  But  God  showed  his   great  love  for  us  by  sending  Christ  to  die  for  us  while  we  were  still  sinners.”                         (Romans  5:7-‐8)

“My  old  self  has  been  crucified  with  Christ.  It  is  no  longer  I  who  live,  but  Christ  lives  in   me.  So  I  live  in  this  earthly  body  by  trusting  in  the  Son  of  God,  who  loved  me  and  gave   himself  for  me.  (Galatians  2:20-‐21)

This  Sacred  Hour   Worship  with  Song   To  Complete  Our  Joy  By  Singing  Together

-‐    “I  think  we  delight  to  praise  what  we  enjoy  because  the  praise  not  merely  expresses   but  completes  the  enjoyment;  it  is  its  appointed  consummation.”  -‐  C.S.  Lewis

Music  helps  us  remember  God’s  word.  -‐  Let  the  word  of  Christ  dwell  among  you  richly  as  you   teach  and  admonish  one  another  with  all  wisdom  through  psalms,  hymns,  and  songs  from  the   Spirit,  singing  to  God  with  gratitude  in  your  hearts.  (Colossians  3:16)       Music  appeals  to  our  head,  heart  and  hands.     …without  the  shedding  of  blood  there  is  no  forgiveness.  (Hebrews  9:22)       Music  is  an  avenue  to  the  unbelieving  world.     Music  unites  us  with  believers  past,  present  and  future.
