Caring 3 Tips for Everyday Listening is Important

Have you ever heard “I Just Need You to Listen to Me” from a friend who is struggling? You may know you should listen, but all you really want to do is take the pain away. Listening is important. It allows others to verbalize and have a sounding board to work things through. It can also deepen relationships. To listen effectively: ff Identify your purpose. Listen, problem solve, give an opinion? ff Quiet your inner voice. Stop trying to problem solve and just absorb what they say. ff Be present. Listen with your full attention. Work to care about what is being said and remain engaged.
