Understanding Assertive Family Engagement

Session Description By thinking through a process for Education Equity in a culturally responsive way, how can we better serve our students and families by shifting our own mindsets? This keynote address will share information about the new English Learner Outcomes State Law and culturally responsive program practices which can be applied to all of our students and families. Programs can choose when and how they wish to use their Program Team Time: year 5 sustainability planning, conference session debriefing, or whatever will best meet your continuous program improvement needs, including collaboration with other programs. Project Directors are responsible for communicating to their staff which “A” session to attend (1, 2, 3, or 4).

This keynote address follow-up session will focus on the following: best practices in serving English Language Learners and their families, alignment strategies between schools and 21st CCLC programs, and meaningful family engagement during this unsettling time for our immigrant families.

Session Description This session introduces “Instrumental Enrichment” as a demonstration of cognitive modifiability in students labeled “special ed.” Learn about tools which enable all students to reduce impulsive behavior, focus, analyze, and seek solutions which help mathematics concepts and reading vocabulary go “through the roof.”

Come to this session and grow your leadership skills to move through bob McNeil, challenges and barriers that get in the way of leading effectively. This Coaching interactive workshop will provide opportunities to practice facilitating Leaders/ conversations designed to support sustainable shifts for individuals and Shifting Norms teams. Participants will learn three key coaching skills and practice a specific coaching framework.

Session Description Do you know what it takes to build an emotionally and physically safe space for youth? This interactive workshop will introduce participants to a variety of activities designed to support the community building process. Each participant receives a guidebook to support implementation of strategies learned during this session. Maximum 25 participants. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) is an Active Shooter Civilian Response Training for all organizations –- informing citizens to participate in their own survival and lead others to safety. This session provides preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event.

Those with Science of Sport prior approval must sign up for both Part 1 & Part 2. Please wear comfortable clothing and plan to be active throughout the 4 hours of training. This session provides Science of Sport teacher professional development for 21st CCLC programs in soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. Those who decide to participate while at the conference must have trainer’s approval prior to the sessions.

This session includes exploring visual arts (painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, collage, etc.) as a vehicle to improve writing. Students write about their authentic responses to the work of great artists in varying styles, tempos, lexicon, and forms applying state writing standards.

Providing inclusive programming is something we all want to do. How do we bob McNeil, ensure this is happening at the level that meets the needs of individuals and Coaching families and staff we serve? This session will provide core competencies and Leaders/ strategies to ensure our practices are culturally responsive on individuals, Shifting Norms program, and policy levels.
