Welcome

To Central Merry Christmas! If you are a visitor, please feel free to ask questions of those who are wearing a lanyard to learn more about Central Reformed Church. We would love to talk with you and answer any questions you may have.

New Year’s Day Service: ONE contemporary service at 9:30 am. No Sunday School.

Today we continue our worship series called: “Christmas Connections” with a message by Andy Baker entitled “Simeon & Anna” from Luke 2:21-40. We will read in scripture the connections many had to Jesus, as well as examine how our personal connection to Jesus today encourages us to make a difference in the world.

C HURCH N EW S Our Christmas Connections series has been highlighting how the Christmas story connects to us and our world today. We encourage you to share God’s love this Christmas by supporting mission work both locally and globally. The “Connections Wall” at the back of the sanctuary contains tags of various missions projects in Haiti, Nicaragua, and Mahaska County that you can support. Simply select a tag and following the instructions on the back for how to donate. All donations, except can goods, need to go directly to the mission organization and not Central Reformed.

2017 Giving Envelopes are available to be picked up in the library near the back of the sanctuary. The envelopes are organized in numerical order and will have the owner’s name printed on the top. Envelopes must be picked up by January 8.

Adrianna Oudman, our missionary from the Nehemiah Center in Nicaragua, will be visiting with us on Monday, January 2nd. Everyone is invited to attend a Q&A/Coffee time with her from 10-11am at Church (exact location TBD). No RSVP is required.

Year-End Giving Reports: You can now easily print your own giving report using Real Time. There are instructions in the library on how to do this yourself. If you prefer to still receive a printed copy from the church, please add your name and preferred method of delivery (email or mailed) to the sign-up sheet in the library and Laura Anderson will get that to you in January.

811 House: The Deacons have decided that it is best to tear down the house at 811 3rd Ave. East due to recent utility costs, imminent maintenance costs, and hopes for the property to become part of a much needed parking lot in the near future.

Sunday Morning Inclement Weather Policy: In the event that there is inclement weather, we will hold only an 11:00 service. We will determine whether we will cancel all services that Sunday. All decisions will be broadcast on KBOE and posted on the church’s website and Facebook page.
