WE PRAY — This week we prayed over the congregational prayers. We prayed for our new vicar and family that will be arriving in June. We prayed for both call committees for the new discipleship pastor and new principal. We lifted up in prayer all veterans and military personnel around the world. We prayed for the upcoming Tijuana mission trip, for VBS and for our 8th grade graduates, families and all the students as they transition to high school. We prayed for Inge’s family in the loss of her brother, Warren. We also prayed for the family of Maida Dorsett as they grieve her passing. We prayed for the health concerns of the following people: Jean, Marlene, Gail’s son, Wayne, Vinny, and Stephanie. We lifted up a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings and servanthood of Mrs. Norma Viets as she looks forward to retirement.

GOD CONNECTS — Interested in learning more about Lutheran teachings or becoming a member of Immanuel? God Connects Summer School will be offered Saturday, July 21 OR August 18 from 8 am to 12 noon. Contact Sharon at [email protected] to register or for more information. MEALS FOR MOMS — Would you like to make a meal for one of our new Immanuel moms? Contact Ashley Braband at [email protected] to join the list of meal makers. MARKERS, MARKERS, MARKERS! As school winds down and kids come home with backpacks full of used school supplies, would you be willing to save and donate back any gently used washable markers? VBS is in need of LOTS of markers for a project this year. Donations can be brought into the office and placed into the basket. GOLF OUTING — Registration for the Annual Golf Outing on June 15 at Whisper Creek Golf Club is open! VBS FOOD DRIVE — Our annual Immanuel VBS Food Drive for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry will be held this month. Look for bags to be handed out during VBS and after all church services next weekend. Filled bags may be returned during VBS or at any service the following weekend. COMING SOON! THE CLINIC — The date for the Clinic has changed. T his year it will be held on Saturday July 28. Same time and place but moved to help reach children before school starts. A new addition is the Ronald McDonald Mobile Unit, a partner that will give exams and inoculations for kids kindergarten aged to 18 years. Look for sign up sheets and a link to signup.com in the next few days. DUE TO WEBSITE DIFFICULTIES , the birthday ecards from American Greetings were not delivered on time. We are working with American Greetings to work through the technical difficulties. Hope you had a wonderful birthday! Pastor Tieman ALTAR GUILD LUNCHEON — Just a reminder that the Altar Guild will meet for lunch at Colonial Café in Crystal Lake on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:30 am.

VBS 2018 – REGISTRATION OPEN — Come sail away with us this summer and learn about Jesus through a “Shipwrecked” theme. Vacation Bible School will be June 18 – 22 with a worship service and celebration on Sunday, June 24. INCOMING 6-8TH GRADE GIRLS — There is a special Bible Study just for you this summer! Starting Sunday, June 10 at 9:30 am in the Flex Room (room 210 upstairs), middle school aged girls are invited to engage in a 7-week study based on the book, We Saved You A Seat by Lisa-Jo Baker. The girls will dive into what Jesus says about friendship and talk about why this can feel difficult at times. They will also learn how to take risks, learn how to love even when it's hard, and talk about how social media is negatively affecting our relationships. OUTDOOR SERVICE — On July 8 Immanuel will celebrate summer with a worship service at Three Oaks Recreation Center in Crystal Lake at 10:30 am (6 pm and 8 am services will be held, as usual). Join us for worship with the Praise Band under the big pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs and a lunch for later. Parking will be provided by Immanuel, if you are not a city resident of Crystal Lake. MOMMY (AND DADDY) AND ME swimming at the Tieman’s, 409 Reserve Drive — Thursday, June 14, 5—7 pm. Stop by for a fun time swimming with your little one! Email [email protected] to RSVP and for more information. PRESCHOOL PARK & PLAY at Veterans Acres on Wednesday, June 13 at 10 am. Meet other Immanuel families for fun at the park! CHURCH AND SCHOOL SUMMER OFFICE HOURS -- The Church and School office will be open from 8 am to 3 pm Monday – Fridays during the summer months. During the weekly staff meetings on Monday mornings from 9:30 – 11 am, the automated phone message system will be turned on. Other News SUMMER AT IMMANUEL — Even as the SUN is shining this summer, God’s SON is shining brighter! Join us this summer as we “Journey with Jesus” and celebrate all that summer fun has to offer with Jesus by our side. Bring cleaning supplies. Lunch out follows! MANY THANKS!! I would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity in regards to my retirement. I really enjoyed teaching so many kids for so many years! Marty and I will look forward to seeing you at worship, Bible studies, fellowship, and other opportunities at Immanuel. I hope that as in Acts 2: 47, all of us will continue "praising God and enjoying the good will of the people." (GNT) Norma Viets VOTERS MEETING — A special congregational Voters Meeting will be held on Sunday, June 24 at 10:30 am in the Commons. This meeting will be for the purpose of extending a call to Pastor Nathan Erb as Immanuel’s new Discipleship Pastor.
