We Pray We prayed over the connection card and congregational prayers, for Tony & Dayle Beyer as they mourn the loss of Tony’s father, and Karl Koenig as he moves onto his call to serve at a new church; we prayed God’s blessings with this transition and his ministry. We prayed for Upward and leaders, Darrin & Shelly Davidson. We prayed for Sharon Tieman as Connect Director as well as for Pastor Tieman and Pastor Bob. We prayed for safe travels and blessings for an enjoyable trip for Gail Handrock and Ellen Frenk. We lifted up the following people with health concerns: Valerie Patinella, Jean Dorn, Jim Kirk, Jessica Martell’s Mom, Ashley Cochran’s Mom, Bob & Lois Popp, Ed & Ann Meier, Ann Anderson, Robert Westphal, Dave Murphy, Ron Kaiser, and the young niece of Jeff & Deb Risner. We prayed for the Shouldice family. We prayed for those Immanuel families moving out of state: Steve & Ginny Illich and Paul & Beth Schneider. May God bless them with safe travel, smooth transition along with blessings upon their families and thanksgiving for their servanthood here at Immanuel. We gave praise and thanksgiving for answered prayers for Jane Otto’s niece.

MUSIC NOTES Do you enjoy music? Do you sing along out loud in the car or even in the shower? No matter, novice or expert, we want you in the Adult Chancel Choir! Rehearsals are weekly on Tuesday from 7-8:30pm and resume on Aug 15. What a glorious way to praise God. It’s FUN! Contact Robert Blazek at 847-921-3154 or email [email protected] The music teams are invited to a “new season” kick-off party at the Blazek home in Huntley on Friday, Aug 25 at 6pm. Bring a dish to pass and a new member! Robert and Cheri will provide the main dish and tableware. Come and celebrate our ministries. Of course, spouses are welcome. More information is available at rehearsal. The Chancel Choir will present a Christmas Cantata with orchestra during the 8 and 9:30 worship services on Sunday, Dec 10. A cantata is a major choral work for choir and orchestra. This years’ Immanuel cantata, (our first ever) is “Winter’s Grace” by Joseph Martin. It is a beautifully written celebration of Christ’s birth. We invite you to join the choir in song for this festive event. Maybe you can’t commit to sing in the choir for a full season, the cantata is a wonderful to reacquaint yourself with singing for a shorter period, 8 weeks. Who knows, you may even get hooked on choir! Cantata rehearsals begin on Tuesday, October 10 from 89pm (last half of choir rehearsal). Contact Robert Blazek at 847-921-3154 or [email protected]
