Transition

By Kevin Reynolds, Executive Director

tran·si·tion - tranˈziSH(ə)n, noun 1. the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. ex. "students in transition from one program to another"

When you see a picture like this one it might make you wonder a few things. Who are they? What are they are looking at? What are they thinking? What are they feeling? Normal questions, perhaps, when considering a group of 5th grade students. The picture is two weeks ago at our main facility, and it’s one of TRANSITION. The moment is at the end of the school year where we bring 5th grade Backyard Bible Club students (before they age out of Elementary School) to our Youth Facility and introduce them to our weekly Middle School & High School program called “321.” Students this age are so full of life and energy, excitement and potential, and they are indeed in full TRANSITION from life as a child to being Youth. As these kids sit on the stage, one of our staff, Josh Huddleson, is leading a game called “THE FLOOR IS LAVA”, a game guaranteed to bring screams of both joy and agony. These students

have already “succumbed to the lava” and are watching the remaining players as play comes to an end. So many things are changing in these kids’ lives and in the midst of it, we try hard to be a constant presence. Our hope and prayer is that the Lord gives us opportunity to “HANG ONTO THEM” throughout the turbulent Middle and High School years that lie ahead. Please keep us in your prayers as we move into Summer and build a bridge into another school year. We love and cherish all of you and thank the Lord for you often!! God bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Him and for them,

House of Faith is so very grateful for ALL THOSE who gave on May 1st during San Angelo Gives. The amount raised, including amplification and prizes, was $105,245.53 and we are truly blessed! Contributions made during San Angelo Gives make up a significant percentage of our yearly operating budget and a portion of these funds will be used for summer activities, making it possible for us to continue “Taking JESUS to neighborhood children, youth and families”.
