Intro: Troubles? Trials? Struggles? Victory is a mindset! o

Pro athletes have one thing on their mind: victory, winning, and dominating!

o

Stop letting the devil put pressure on you; put pressure on the devil!

Whatever You’re Believing for Is What You’re Headed Towards o

Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) •

For as he thinks within himself, so he is.

Don't Think on Your Struggles, Think on Your Victory!

TEXT: •

John 16:23-33 (NASB) o

In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

o “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; an hour is coming

when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.” o His disciples *said, “Lo, now You are speaking plainly and are not using a figure

of speech. Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone

to question You; by this we believe that You came from God.” Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” •

John 1:12 (NLT) o

1 John 5:4 (NLT) o

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.

Faith = Pistis (gk) •

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

Complete Moral Confidence - Assurance

James 1:7-8 speaks of wavering faith and suggests that we shouldn’t expect anything from God

Why is that some people have stronger faith than others? •

Jude 17-23 - (NLT) •

But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.

7 Ingredients That Will Help Build Your Faith / Victory! 1. The Word of God o

Luke 1:37 (NLT) For the word of God will never fail.

o

No word of God is void of power.

o

It never fails! •

God's Word contains power to accomplish its purpose i.

Isaiah 55:11 – the Word Accomplishes Purpose

ii.

An Old Testament example is the Creation account. 1. When God said, “Let there be light,” He didn’t then flex His creative muscle to bring light about; the light came about because the words were spoken for it to come forth.

A kingdom key is recognizing that the Word has within it the power to bring about the fulfillment of what He says.

Our responsibility is to stand in faith before the Lord and to hold onto His Word.

2. The Blood of the Cross o

Revelation 12:11- Overcoming Happens by The Blood

o

Colossians 2:14, 15 - Cancelled Debt / Disarmed Spiritual •

Hell cannot withstand confrontation with the Blood of the Jesus. i.

An Old Testament example is the Passover in Egypt. The angel of death could not cross the blood line.

ii.

Where the blood was applied, there was a securing of the promised life of the living God.

The Blood makes a statement and holds it before our adversary; making claim to the fact that there is no territory that he can hold any longer because it’s been purchased by the Blood of Jesus.

3. The Name of Jesus – o

John 14:13, 14 - (NLT) You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! •

Jesus gives us privilege of access and authority by using His Name.

The Name isn't just a tag line at the end of a prayer i.

We are invoking "All Authority & Power" into the situation

ii.

There is no higher name - No Greater Authority

4. The Flow of the Spirit o

John 7:37-39 - Rivers of Living Water will flow from us

o

Ephesians 5:17-20 (NLT) - Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. •

The fullness and flow of the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of power.

The difference between power and authority is like sitting at a red stop light with your engine running. i.

You may have the power to go, but until the light turns green, you don’t have the authority.

ii.

Or if you are at a green light but you are out of gas, you have the authority but not the power.

iii.

The Holy Spirit gives the power; Jesus’ Name gives the privilege or authority.

5. The Shout of Triumph - Prayer o

Acts 4:24 (NLT) When they heard the report, all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God •

When the church gathers in prayer and lifts its voice with one accord, there is a verifiable dynamic released in the invisible realm.

6. The Song of the Lord – Praise o

Acts 16:25, 26 (NLT) Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

o

Psalm 100:4 - Enter His courts with praise. Praise gives you access! •

The dynamic of praise has great capacity for breakthrough.

7. The Fast with Prayer o

Mark 2:20 - But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast. •

This great principle is that the power of fasting cripples evil i.

An Old Testament example is found in the Book of Esther. On the basis of a three-day fast, the nation of Israel was saved.

Closing: Faith sees things as finished!
