1.

Decide on which policy suits the situation.

We’ve created a decision tree to help you with this. See appendix 1.

2.

Read the policy and consider if you should offer additional support

Policy links: UK Mobility Policy: Permanent International to UK Moves UK Mobility Policy: Permanent UK to UK Moves UK Mobility Policy: Secondment Moves UK Mobility Policy: Other Travel Arrangements Within each of the UK Relocation policies, the last section outlines additional support that we can offer but is not part of the ‘core’ offering. Each of the items listed in the additional support sections “What else might I be eligible for?” have a cost attached. Appendix 2 and 2A outlines for you, what is core and optional, under what circumstances you might offer an ‘optional’ and an estimate of what these costs could be, so that you can make an informed decision on whether you offer them or not. Once you’ve decided what you want to offer, we’ll give you a real costing.

Appendix 2A Why would you offer the ‘optional’ benefits? Help with home purchase

Area orientation Accompanied home search Career support for partner School search Increased temporary accommodation (up to 6 months)

This would be based on need and is only for permanent moves. Examples of need are; if the individual cannot accept the role if this is not offered or if the individual is going to be worse off due to having to move for work for instance if they’re moving from a less expensive to a more expensive housing market. This would be beneficial to individuals who are not from the UK or have never ventured to the area where their new role is. This would help individuals who don’t have their own car, they’d be transported between viewings and would get a level of area orientation in doing so. This would benefit individuals where their partner is having to give up his or her current profession as a result of their relocation. It should only be offered if needed. This would help individuals who have limited to no knowledge of the UK schooling system, they would receive advice on how to apply for state schools and could find out more about private schooling. This would potentially be offered to individuals who are having difficulty selling their current property or have been unsuccessful in securing a new property.
