Ralph Waldo Emerson, great American writer, poet, and thinker, tells us: Thoughts are things. A hundred years later, science now tells us that our thoughts really do create changes in the human body, and psychologists tell us that our thinking affects our emotions, our moods. So the questions of the day comes from a man from India, a yogi by the name of Paramahansa Yogananda: In you, which is stronger—success thoughts or failure thoughts? What’s your answer? Let’s do our best to create a successful day by focusing on successful and postitive thoughts. Make it a great day Walzem Wolves!

Parents and ScholarsTrees let’s push for 100% Attendance in EVERY grade level. We can do this. Communication Every school day matters. If you are not in your seat you are missing vital instruction. Our Goal is 100% Attendance in Every Grade EVERY Day.

Mighty Wolves Parents, Beginning next week our 7th, 8th and 9th grade scholars will embark on our annual STAAR testing season. Students and teachers worked hard during this school year to prepare for this exam and now it’s time to see how much our students have learned. It is of the utmost importance that all students are well rested and mentally prepared for these exams. Equally important is that all students are present and arrive on time to school. This will ensure that they have time for breakfast and begin their tests with the rest of the group. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. As we do our part to ensure your child’s success on these upcoming assessments, please help us by doing yours so that together we can give our students the best possibilities for a great performance. Two fundraisers are kicking off today to benefit our current and future campus field lessons. We are holding a t-shirt fundraiser and we are also selling Spurs themed fiesta medals to students/staff/families/the community! All students are receiving a t-shirt order form by end of day, and 9th graders will be selling fiesta medals. Fiesta medals are $10 each and all money will be due on Friday, April 6th. Long sleeve t-shirts are $20 each and all money will be due on Friday, April 13th. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt and/or fiesta medal, you can do so directly with Ms. Ayala or Ms. Martinez. Just feel free to email me back or text me at 210-404-8671. If you prefer, you can also place an order with any student for a t-shirt or with a 9th grader for a medal.

Thank you for your support! Have a wonderful week =)

Attention 9th grade parents, we are just under two months away from our Field Lesson! Remember the field lesson is May 23-26 and we will be visiting Houston, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Dallas. Please review the following important updates: 1.

We are taking payments for the field lesson! You can pay with Ms. Ayala or with Ms. Martinez in the front office. We accept cash or checks and provide a receipt for your records.

2.

A deposit of $150 is due by May 1st, 2018 to hold your spot. We need these deposits to reserve our charter buses.

3.

Once a payment is made, it is NOT refundable. All payments are being used to reserve the charter buses, the hotels, and food. Once we receive payment, we use the money to make payments to our vendors.

4.

The total of $305 is due no later than Friday, May 18th. It is crucial that we have all funds by this day so we know exactly how many buses we will need.

5.

We currently have two fundraisers going on right now. We are selling fiesta medals until Friday, April 6th. For every medal sold, the student will earn $5 into their account. We are also selling class shirts until Friday, April 13th. For every shirt sold, the student will earn $11 into their account. Pre-sale orders of shirts and medals will be taken during Report Card Night on April 3.

**Please feel free to contact Ms. Ayala at 210-404-8671 or at [email protected] for any questions.
