Hooker Headers full- and mid-length mild steel headers for second-generation GM F-Bodies (Camaro/Firebird) with LS engine swaps provide maximum component clearance, ground clearance, and room for large-diameter exhaust tubing. These headers are built to work with Hooker second generation F-body engine mounts and transmission crossmembers also developed for this application. This combination of components provides perfect fitment with an ideal 3˚ to 3.5˚ drivetrain angle. These headers feature 3/8-inch thick flanges and flat-finished TIG welded port sealing. Both 1-3/4” and 1- 7/8” versions are available) and are compatible with 4L60/4L65/4L70/4L75 auto or LS T56/T56 manual (OE or QuickTime bellhousing; mechanical or hydraulic clutch linkage) transmissions. The factory A/C evaporator case and large OE LS plug wires are also fully compatible with these headers. They are available in black paint, silver ceramic, or Darksides™ black ceramic versions. They are full-featured stainless steel headers with all-new CAD/CFD developed components. These headers are configured with proprietary components exclusive to Hooker, such as investment-cast flanges and collector attenuators and one-piece formed merge collectors. Take note that Hooker cast iron manifolds (8501HKR, 8501-1HKR, 8501-3HKR, 8501-4HKR, 8501-5HKR) are verified for fitment in your LS swap 2nd generation as well.

*Due to the unique subframe and floor pan differences between 1970-74 and 75-81 model F-bodies, Hooker has developed specific full-length headers for each model range to optimize ground clearance for all model year cars. Installing these headers on a 1970-74 model year vehicle will provide 1” less ground clearance than that intended by Hooker and will also not permit the headers to directly connect to Hooker 2.5” and 3” exhaust systems also in development for this application. Hooker full-length headers for 1970-74 model range F-bodies are nearing final development and will be released in the near future.
