rosé Wines

The colour of wine comes from the skin of the grapes only, as most grape flesh is colourless. So to make red wine, the grapes are crushed and the skins left in the juice until it is "dyed" a red colour. The same technique is used for rose wines, but the skins are left in the juice for a much shorter time, so the resulting colour is much paler, in fact it is pink! You can find many, many different styles of ros, from very light and delicate, to fruity and full-bodied.

Dessert Wines

Dessert wines are very, very concentrated in flavour and sweetness, so you only need a small glass to enjoy them. They range from being very light and delicately sweet, like the Botrytised Semillon or The Welder, to being complex and unctuous, like the Icewines or the Gold Label Tokaji.
