Update NEWSLETTER

JANUARY, 2015

MISSION: Advance and promote the prosperity of its members and enhance the quality of life in the greater Rochester area.

A MESSAGE FROM 2014-2015 CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, Mark Farrell, Laars Heating Systems Company On behalf of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, I would like to thank you all for supporting the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. Your Chamber represents nearly 450 businesses in the Greater Rochester area. It is a privilege for me to serve as your Chairman of the Board again this year. I appreciate the confidence the membership has placed in me and I look forward to working with all of you to advance our organization. It is also extremely important to recognize how fortunate our Chamber is to have Laura Ring as our President. Laura is extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and proud of the Greater Rochester area. I would also like to thank Caitlyn Marble who has stepped up and been a huge asset for the Chamber this past year. I will continue to work with the board and staff to set goals and oversee them throughout the year. With your input, we can continue to roll out and offer benefits that provide businesses with connections and help you conduct business. Remember, it is our job to provide you with opportunities – however, you must take advantage of them to make your investment worthwhile. We continue to build on our exceptional volunteer base that assists the Chamber in reaching its organizational goals. Your Chamber offers many active committees that we encourage you to become involved in. Please let us know if you are interested in participating on any of them. We have an exceptional Membership Development Committee that works with the staff to recruit new members and a dynamic Ambassador Committee that works to retain members throughout the year. Our engaged Governmental Affairs Council continues to work with local and state representatives on various issues in an effort to maintain a favorable business climate for our members. Our Public Relations Committee works on initiatives to promote our members as well as our community. In addition, several event committees meet at various times of the year to coordinate some exceptional events that highlight our members or to plan community events. You can help strengthen your Chamber. When doing business, I urge you to review your Chamber Business Referral Directory and make a conscious effort to do business with fellow members. Together, our combined efforts will build a more successful business community. I look forward to working with our excellent staff, our dedicated Board of Directors and the many members who serve on our committees and assist with activities. With our dedicated board, staff and membership, we are confident that our Chamber will continue to be successful. Thank you for all that you do for your Chamber. Mark Farrell 2015 Chairman of the Board
