Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Analyse a specified problem. Performance criteria 1.1

The analysis identifies the critical factors involved in the problem. Range

The analysis identifies success criteria for the solution to the problem. Range

may include but is not limited to – target dates, major functions, development costs, performance levels, end-user satisfaction.

Element 2 Propose options for utilising computer technology to solve the specified problem. Performance criteria 2.1

The proposal describes each option and identifies the computer technology required for its implementation.

2.2

The proposal describes how each option meets the success criteria for the solution.

2.3

The proposal justifies a preferred option in terms of its ability to better meet the success criteria for the problem.

2.4

The preferred option is approved for implementation according to organisational requirements. Range

organisational requirements for approval may include but are not limited to – documented workplace procedures; verbal agreement with supervisor, tutor, teacher or assessor.

Element 3 Implement the preferred option to solve the specified problem. Performance criteria 3.1

The preferred option is implemented according to the proposal.

3.2

The implementation fulfils the success criteria identified in the analysis.

5947 version 6 Page 3 of 3 Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
