Water, water everywhere! Rockingham County's lakes are a haven for water sports enthusiasts. With two large, beautiful lakes your options will never end. Lake Reidsville offers more than 750 acres of action-packed fun, from camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking, picnicking and more. The lake is also a popular spot for anglers and fishing tournaments because of its abundance of big bass, crappie and bream. The newest feature at Lake Reidsville is a championship quality disc golf course, which is the first of its kind in Rockingham County. In western Rockingham County, Belews Lake provides more outdoor fun. This tranquil lake spans more than 88 miles and over 3,800 acres. It is centrally located to many Piedmont Triad cities and provides numerous options for fishing, water sports and camping. It is also the home of Carolina Marina, a boating sales, service and camping facility.

Rockingham County has long been known for making things — whether it’s massed produced products, handmade goods or homegrown crops from our rich soil.

This area is proud of its farming, textile and tobacco heritage.

But that era has faded and farmers and entrepreneurs alike

are creating a new heritage for Rockingham County. Vineyards and wineries are one example of new uses for vacated farms. Autumn Creek Vineyards in Mayodan is just seven miles off US 220 on a former farm. It features nearly 10 acres of vineyards, a tasting room, two overnight, getaway cabins, and plans for a special events center and inn. Chinqua-Penn Plantation is thriving off its heritage with the production of Chinqua-Penn wines and a wine tasting room. Riverbirch Vineyards is growing native Muscadine grapes and producing wine on another former farm in the
