VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

A rotating team of women leave every Wednesday morning from the lower CPC parking lot to drive to Richmond to Christian Home Missionary Baptist Church in order to prepare and serve a healthy meal of soup to the homeless and needy in the area. We make a different soup each week of the month from scratch on site. We have a great time chopping, dicing, and cooking up soup and muffins, accompanied by homemade cookies from our own CPC bakers. Each week has a different set team of cooks and bakers, and each person going contributes money to cover the expenses for the endeavor. We have designated jobs: two do the prep work, one individual does the buying, and one is the administrator. Blessings are ours when we go; working with a loving team from CHMBC who set tables, wrap silver and scripture that we provide, and help with serving and clean up. When we go, we often bring donated clothes and other items for the needy people there. You should see the smiles and hear the appreciative comments we receive.
