Introduction EDAC’s Waterproof wire-to-wire & wire-to-PCB connectors have been designed for use in rugged and harsh environments including, automotive, recreational and commercial vehicles, outdoor lighting, marine, solar, industrial/process control, construction and all outdoor applications. The 560, 566 and 572 Series connectors provide absolute protection against dirt, dust and immersion in water up to 1m depth for up to 30 minutes, supporting both low-level signal and power applications up to 10A and 300V. Features • 560, 566 and 572 series are IP67 certified • Double latches for extra security in high vibration & shock environments - 560, 567, 568 & 572 series • Internal polarisation • Operating temperature range -40°C to +105°C • Pitch sizes from 2.0mm to 5.9mm • High grade silicone rubber gaskets pre-installed in 560 & 566 series • Colour coded wire seals • Gaskets are ribbed for multi point sealing Contacts Contacts • Crimp contacts feature 3 contact points for electrical reliability • Contacts are supplied in reels and in strips of 40 or 60 pieces depending on series PCB headers • PCB location posts to ensure correct orientation on the board • PCB retention features retains the connector whilst soldering • For IP67 protection headers must be potted onto the PCB Tooling • Hand crimp tooling 565-280-210 is suitable for 560,567, 568, and 572 series • Contact removal tool 570-280-300 for 567, 568, & 572 series • Contact removal tool 565-280-301 for 560 series connectors • Applicators are available for use with automatic cable assembly equipment Custom cable assemblies can be manufactured to your specifications.

Step 1 • Prepare the cable wire of stripped length of 4.0mm

• Ensure that the wire seal’s shoulder is properly placed on the contact, as shown in Fig. 7 • This is applicable to both Female and Male contacts

Step 3 •
In a position as shown in Fig 10 Male contact assembly’s crimp side is aligned opposite the wider side of the male housing
