OUR PANCAKES UP DAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

SEE HOW OUR JAIL & BAIL WENT AND HOW MUCH MONEY WAS RAISED!

WE KICKED OFF OUR CANCER AWARENESS MONTH IN STYLE!

A Note from Scott Barber American Cancer Society through team member fundraising and property contests across the enterprise. At the conclusion of October, we, along with all participating Caesars-affiliated properties across North America, will report the extent of our BCA-related activities to the Corporate Responsibility team. The Caesars Foundation will be awarding a total of $25,000 to the local chapters of the American Cancer Society in recognition of the efforts of each of the top three participating properties, giving $10,000 to first place, $8,000 for second place, and $7,000 for third place. Let’s show everyone what we’re made of and earn that $10,000 for our local ACS chapter!

October is the time of year that Caesars MidSouth comes together in a unified effort to bring attention to cancer and both women’s and men’s health issues, as well as promote Wellness Rewards through our monthly activities. This has quickly become one of the Caesars family’s most inspiring times of the year as our team members rally to support this important health and wellness initiative. I am proud that our team has consistently played an important role in raising funds for cancer research by supporting the American Cancer Society’s events. Last year, Caesars-affiliated properties raised more than $100,000 for the

To date, the Caesars Foundation has contributed more than $3.6 million to cancer-related organizations through cash and in-kind donations. We encourage you to participate in Cancer Awareness Month activities. Sincerely,

R. Scott Barber Regional President

Cancer Awareness Month Kick-Off Every year we put our best foot forward to helping fight cancer and bring awareness to this terrible disease. More than one million people in the United States get cancer each year, but with each awareness activity we are one step closer to finding a cure. On Friday, September 30 a group of employees from Horseshoe and Roadhouse met at Transportation to kick-off our Cancer Awareness Month with a walk from Transportation to the Wellness Clinic. Our goal is to educate and bring awareness of this terrible disease. Cancer is not just one disease. There are many types of cancer. Cancer can start in the lungs, the breast, the colon, or even in the blood. They are alike in some ways, but different in the ways they grow and spread. The cells in our bodies all have certain jobs to do. Normal cells divide in an orderly way. They die when they are worn out or damaged, and new cells take their place. Cancer is when the cells start to grow out of control. The cancer cells keep on growing and making new cells. They crowd out normal cells and can spread to other parts of the body. There are several ways to detect cancer early with several screenings and at-home techniques. Physical exercise and healthy eating can also help to prevent different forms of cancer. If you have any questions about cancer or need help finding resources in your area, please call the American Cancer Society at 1 (800) 227-2345. Thank you to everyone who came out and participated with the Kick-Off Walk.

Are You a Cancer Survivor? Help us BUILD HOPE against all types of cancer. We invite you to be a part of a very special parade. Join us as we strive to raise money for cancer research. Battle of the Bras “Survivor Parade” Friday, October 28, 2016 ~ 7:00PM in Bluesville

Week of Caring Our HEROs were back at it again celebrating not just a Day of Caring, but a whole week! Volunteers from Horseshoe Tunica and Tunica Roadhouse worked all week long September 12—16 at the Mid-South Food Bank. The Week of Caring started with a kickoff at the National Civil Rights Museum and then the HEROs headed to the Mid-South Food Bank warehouse. They were able to establish a process to help keep the warehouse organized and make sure that it stayed efficient. It was hot work, but with over 100 volunteers working all week long, we were able to store, sort, and send out dozens upon dozens of pallets of food. The Mid-South Food Bank serves charitable agencies that feed hungry and needy people in west Tennessee, east Arkansas, and north Mississippi. Agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth programs, senior programs, rehabilitation programs, and residential centers. Mid-South Food Bank is the only Feeding America affiliate in the Mid-South that supplies food to qualified charitable organizations. The Mid-South Food Bank depends on the generosity and support of caring people to help in the fight against hunger. Every month, volunteers from Horseshoe and Roadhouse head to downtown Tunica to hand out food from the Mid-South Food Bank, but the Week of Caring helped to show our volunteers what all goes into running such a great establishment before the trucks head out. The Food Bank is always looking for people to organize or participate in food drives. Call the Mid-South Food Bank for more details on how to run a successful drive: 901-373-0400. We want to thank everyone who helped to make this event successful. Our community events wouldn’t be the same without all the effort and hard work that our HEROs put forth.

At the Mid-South Food Bank

We had our first Jail & Bail on September 22 and 23. Our leaders were wrongfully placed under arrest and we had a chance to bail them out of our EDR jail! Leaders Tammy Young, Loretta Snipes, Andre Jackson, Kevin Munn, Ricky Busey, Pam Richardson, Trudy Pfisterer, Jason Williams, Romeo Khazen, Shaun Pittman, Tammy Hansen, Glenn Greer, Matt Earnheart, Lee Dillard, and Scott Barber were able to earn their earn their bail raising a whopping $7,610! We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated. All of the money donated will benefit the American Cancer Society.

We have the best employees in the business and we want everyone to know that! On Thursday, September 15th our leaders served free breakfast to our employees all day long! Everyone was able to enjoy pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and eggs! We are so proud of the great SERVICE WITH PASSION everyone exhibits! Thank you for helping make our properties great!
