NAME THE FELLOWSHIP NEWSLETTER…

A note from Mike Hulefeld, Chief Operating Officer and Fellowship Program Chair

I am pleased to introduce the first newsletter of the Ochsner Administrative Fellowship. The newsletter will be provided to current and former fellows on a quarterly basis, and contain relevant information that is important to you. Some examples include important dates, updates from current and former fellows, recruitment efforts, and any topics that you would like to see. Our ultimate goal is to keep you regularly updated, but we also want to encourage you to be an active member of the program. Faye Campo, program manager of the Ochsner Administrative Fellowship, will help coordinate and keep us all in contact and updated. If you all have yet to meet Faye, I would encourage you to stop by and chat. Faye was hired last year and has been a tremendous help in restructuring the Fellowship, and has already implemented a number of important changes to how we keep in contact. I am extremely proud to be a part of the Fellowship’s tradition of leaders. The Fellowship has historically recruited extremely talented and driven individuals dedicated to making real change. The 2013 recruitment cycle was no exception. We received over 140 applications from many diverse schools for only five operation fellowship positions. These five individuals were selected from a talented pool, which included 25 phone interviewees and 16 on-site candidates. We are also actively recruiting for the Finance and Supply Chain Fellowships. These concentrations are relatively new, but are already having a real impact at Ochsner. Please welcome all the new fellows on campus on July 7th, and support them in whatever way that you can. I am certain that the members of the 2014 class will continue to contribute to the success of Ochsner and position us to achieve our goal of being the best fellowship program in the country. I want to emphasize the importance of this newsletter being a collaborative effort between all Fellowship alumni. If you have an idea for a topic of interest, then please contact Faye. Also, if you are no longer with Ochsner, we would still love for you to give us an update on your career and contact information. Finally, let us know if this newsletter is worthwhile to you, and any other feedback that you might have.

We are in need of a name for our fellowship newsletter. Share your ideas by emailing your suggestions to [email protected] and your idea could be chosen. Thank you for all that you do, Mike Hulefeld COO Ochsner Health System
